But that was after the summer of 2007, when we had just been dumped out of the play offs. I can clearly remember saying they should be implementing Plan B and not spending beyond our means, but they continued to spend, with no one holding them to account as the three shareholders *****ed amongst themselves until Crouch & SISU forced the issue that Autumn.

You would have thought so, the way people went on that there were no other alternatives!!!! -
The bloke on Radio Hampshire just said that the ticket office told him that they hold sold over 24,000.

Where have you been these recent months;) -
Did The Debt Increase In The Lowe and Wilde Year Then?
um pahars replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
No it isn't. Net debt is calculated by adding up all the loans, O/D's etc and then including any positive bank balances/deposits. I think you're getting confused with a net assets calculation. -
To be fair to Hone and others, they were upfront that the money spent that summer was "in staged payments for the players, but it's been done on debt by and large". I'm sure he and others thought some cash would be raised (and he said as much at the Solent forum that summer), so although he misjudged Wilde (and others) who didn't cough up and, who should therefore take some blame, I don't think it was that summer's spending that killed us. In fact after that first season net debt was reduced to it's lowest for years and costs had been reduced. They also followed the start by Lowe who spent £2m on Rasaik and who had also given Burley and others the impression money would be forthcoming with his warchest quotes in the run up to the EGM. But I would have been much harsher on Hone and co for their failings to cut back and implement Plan B in the summer following our failure in the play offs. At that point they should have cut back and not sanctioned monies on Euell, Thomas etc. They made some poor decisions, but it would never be deemed gross misconduct and sadly just like when Lowe and Cowen received their share of half a million+ when they were removed for failing in 2006, Hone and co were legally entitled for their pay offs as well. Whilst both Lowe & co and Hone & co were legally entitled to those monies, I just can't halp but think it's morally wring considering both were removed from office for failing in their jobs.

Along with the lawyers as bods from Freshfield's don't come cheap!!!!!!!

After Exit Number 17, Lowe finally admitted that he wasn't cut out for the job.
-
Thanks for that, it certainly gave me a reason to chuckle on such a dark day!!!!

Why's that then???? :rolleyes::rolleyes: -
One of these reasons why I thought it was so wrong has been highlighted by today's events, in that as long as it is a Club run initiative it will only happen when those at the Club believe in it and any change could well put it in jeopardy. It has to be an independent initiative led and driven by supporter's and not at the behest of those temporarily in charge at any given point.

You tell me where I sit, after all you continually post up here (before it is quite rightly removed) stating that you have seen me running amok in Block 10.:---):---):---):---) Fact is like most of your posts on here, it's either bullsht, lies or twaddle.:rolleyes: Come over and say hello on Saturday, after all you know who I am and where I sit:D:D

Fcking hell, we're talking about an ex player who was owed money for a testimonial here, not sitting on your normal creditors payments to improve your cash flow!!!!! We were still firmly in the Premiership (the game was at the end of the 2003/2004 season), so to suggest we hold on to monies owed for a good cause is good business is morraly bankrupt IMHO. I understand Williams said something like when he rang Wallace up a good time later, he had only received something like £14,000 and it took some phone calls from him and a fair few months to pass for that figure to rise to £100,000+. Wallace joined the Club in 1977 as an associate schoolboy, made his debut as an apprentice in 1980 and left us in 1989 after many years, over 300 appearances and something like 80 goals. Given his service and his subsequent diagnosis, I think his was worthy of a testimonial and from what Williams is supposed to have said, perhaps worthy of being treated slightly better than being dumped in amidst the normal creditors!!!!!!!!
-
LMFAO. I didn't read any further than his crass opening line so never saw his statue gem!!!!! I think we ould be likely to get a punch bag type effigy, where people can take out there frustrations after a home defeat. Or maybe even an eternal flame to lighten up the dark periods whenever we think back to the dark days at the end of his two tenures.

With the PLC going into Administration there are affectively no longetr any shareholders!!!!! Additionally the Idrectors of the Football Club are appointed by the PLC, which is now in the hands of the administrator. They are no longer at the Club (although nothing can stop them from making a reappearance in the future, although I doubt they will).
-
I posted that early last night when I was told that only Jones would be around today. I think there is also a precedent regarding Aviva (norwich Union) as I'm sure they have renegotiated their det wth other clubs before (notably Ipswich, which somewhat upset their rivals Norwich, considering Norwich Union were involved!!!!!!). So much will depend on whether anyone who comes in can renegotiate our debt position. Otherwise I fear for our future.

Give it a rest you fool. If you think any Saints fan (apart from the odd nutter) are really taking any pleasure from the state we find ourselves in, then I can only conclude that you are really out of touch with how the majority are feeling. Any sense of relief that Lowe may finally have gone is far, far outweighed by the worries and concerns regarding the perilous state he has left us in. You sound like a spoilt brat ging off in a tantrum. The mods would do well locking this pathetic thread and asking some to reopen it again with a normal post regarding Wotte's position (as whilst it is a relevant subject, it could do without the pathetic opening gambit from the OP).
-
Yes,early evening yesterday from me;)
-
Whilst there may be a chance that the PLC structure might save us a points deduction, you seem to be forgetting tht when we moved to that way of working in 1996 there were no rules regarding points deductions following administration so it was never on the horizon. It's just an accidental by product of our current status and decision to circumvent Rule 34 (and that's assuming we get away with it). Come and see me in the Itchen South (block 10) this Saturday and we can discuss this like adults and have a chat about Lowe's second tenure ending in abject failure
-
I'm sure none of them are perfect, and I'm sure they have probably all made their fair share of bloopers, mistakes and poor decisions, but when held up against Lowe's record, then I have to say their failings pale in to insignificance when comparedto his record of poor decisions over recent years. You won't get any semblence of balance or rational thinking from Manji on this subject though.
-
If someone from his legal team was listening to the show then they would have their hands full with Dennis, his sidekick and some of the callers and texters, given what was being said on there tonight!!!!!!! Williams having to ring up to try and sort any monies owed was playschool stuff compared to what else was being said !!!!!!!
-
It's not lost on me and even though there are rumours of people circling the Club, if nothing comes off then as you say we really will be in the sht.
-
I could almost agree with you, in that had we not appointed Wigley (and perhaps not even got rid of Sturrock), then things might have been different. No guarantees and also no reason why the alternative had to be Hoddle.
-
Actually, we would have been relegated in 2007 if Hoddle was appointed. I know that for a fact.
