Sounds to me that Lowe lost the support and confidence of Barclays going forward and considering events on the pitch affected the business so much, along with having the baggage of Lowe and others around, it's probably not surprising that he didn't manage to get Barclay's on side. For Barclay's to pull the plug in the manner they did (with all the inherent risks of losing their monies) would suggest that they had no faith whatsoever in the management of the Club. Considering they were privy to the inner workings of the Club, then it is probably a very daming indictment. As an aside, whilst there is no doubt that the Executive team made some big mistakes once the parachute money ran out, to suggest a claim for negligence or breach of fiducary duty is OTT and displays a rather knee jerk and misguided appraisal of the situation.

Would be only too happy to see any announcement or statement saying they were appointed until the end of the season. We have gone over this numerous times before and the best that was out there was along the lines of "forseeable future", "there is no time limit", "we will not be rushed into an appointment", "It allows the Club more time over the hunt for a replacement", "We always said we would atke our time to make sure we appoint the right person". No one has ever been able to find anything to show the appointment was permanent, or even until the end of the season. Indeed, Exit2 who knows Dodd very well has said it was only ever on a short term basis.

But what if the alternative is just to fold??? Surely it would be better to do anything to keep the Club ticking over and then look to move forward once things are more secure. I'm sure Swansea went down the route of involving their Supporter's Trust in the first instance to stave off going into obscurity and then built on that when others came in once the Club was a more stable and viable proposition.

So, how much does somebody have to stump up ??

Even £20m is way too far north. -
He would never have that picture sat in his desk as it's never his fault!!!!! I've even seen it mentioned on another site that a few of the more, let's say blinkered, are suggesting Lowe is not to blame as he just the mere "fireman" brought in to put out the fire originally started by the "arsonists" who ran the Club before him. I can only assume that they didn't notice that the fire has been well alight since the summer of 2005. :smt017 Additionally, I can also only assume that they believe Jan Poortvliet was Head of the Helmond Fire Service brought in to help put the fire out;) Getting back to the OP: 1. "Ahead Of My Time : The Football Revolution" 2. No

NickG's igure is way over the top. We're not looking for a £30m investment. -
A view that I can empathise with. I would happily do my bit to try and keep this Club afloat. However, I can also see the argument that says given the way this Club has been run by some in recent years I would like to sees oemthing put in place to hold them to account!

I only mentioned the Saints Trust from the perspective that there is a shell vehicle that could be used as opposed to having to go through the motions of setting some formal structure up. Of course if there was some other quick way of doing it and starting afresh then no problem, but with such a short deadline things need to be moving fast.
-
Your last line is very valid as it would certainly affect the finances. I also agree that we are still a loss makign business, but maybe, just maybe a decent spirit and sense of togetherness could see some good attendances and £££'s on the top line. I reckon our drop of about 6,000 punters has cost us something like circa £3million this season!!!!!
-
But if the money raised by supporters was an amount which meant the whole deal could be arranged, then wouldn't that be good enough, in that it would at least get us out of our current predicament???? Many other clubs nave used a mix and match approach and IMHO considering how deep in the sht we are I wouldn't be too worried how the ownership ultimately stacked up. I always feared we would one day be doing bucket collections outside SMS, and like you I think we should ensure we get something in return for our dosh.
-
The vehicle is already there in the Saints Trust, you just need some credible people to step up to the plate to run with this idea. IMHO even if there are some out there launching a bid with some "big" hitters, then I can't see why this could not be complmentary. Any money raised could be given to the Club in return for a stake or it could even just be loaned.
-
Maybe it would still be a good idea as perhaps any monies raised by supporters could be invested in the Club in return for a stake alongside these "big" hitters.

Not many clubs have been looking for a buyer/investment in such dire times!!!!

As with the Wilde one, although this looks as though it was answers to questions from The Echo as opposed to a prepared statement: "It's sad for the shareholders and I'm one of them, but I'm not worried about the money I've lost - it's the other fans, what about them? I didn't buy my shares to make money. When I bought my shares it was a long term invesment and I never expected to get my money back, so i'm not worried about my shares. We don't need the history of why we're here at the present time, because I believe that will filter through to the manager and the players. There will be an inquest, but that's got to be when we are safe. I would ask everyone who loves this club to forget about personalities and get back in that stadium and get behind the lads. We have got every chance if we do that. We've played some good football under Mark Wotte and we can do it. We have got every chance to avoid relegation, so let's get behind them. Come on you reds - that's got to be the message. We've got to pack the stadium out for these last three games. If we can do that then we have got every chance of staying up." Crouch is hopeful there is someone out there who will take on the club........... "We have all these great facilites. We wouldn't be a PLC any more, it will be a private company and it will be clean and easy, and I believe someone will come in and do a deal with the banks. Hopefully we will have a buyer out there that sees the tremendous potential of the club - it's a fantastic opportunity for someone" But Crouch refused to be drawn on whether he would consider buying the club. "I think at the present time I wouldn't want to make any comment. It really needs to unravel, what's actually happening"

Wilde and Lowe have just been escorted from the premises
um pahars replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
you're wrong. They have defintiely left and are no longer involved, -
I'm on about using it as the shell vehicle to perhaps try and do something positive given that we don't have much time. I'm not about personalities, egos or being a mouth piece, merely using it as something that people can use to get something moving.

Methinks you may have proved Trousers point!!!

Typed up so please forgive any fck ups and shortenings (e.g. SLH PLC): "It is very sad that is has become necessary to suspend the shares in SLH PLC. Although SFC Ltd continues to tarde, we are now living on vorrowed time. Investment is essebtial if it is to survive. Everyone is aware of the the current economic climate and the meltdown in the banking sector, unfortunately this has directly led to our current situation. Our bankers, Barclays bank, significantly cut back our overdraft facility level in October last year, in my view effectively starving the company of working capital and frustrating our budget forecasts. As a result, we needed to rase significant funds during the January window, but to no avail, again as a direct esult of the cash crisis affecting affecting many football clubs. On a personal level, I have worked continually in the background for the last three years to try and secure these much needed funds. There have been many meetings and discussions, but unfortunately no one of sufficient wealth and ambition has so far come forward. Hopefully, with the events of the last 24 hours, any seriously interested buyers will be inclined to show their hand at last and come forward to save this great club. There is no doubt in my mind that this club represents the very best value for money any investor could imagine, with facilities and real potential for Premiership football. It would be truly wonderful for someone to come in with both the vision and resources to take us forward. Certainly, no investor could fail to be impressed by the passion and commitment of oru supporters - a fundamental reason why this club would have such potential in the hands of the right person. Whilst the board has done everything in its power to continue trading, by cutting costs and player wages, the core overhead of running a new Premiership stadium together with its correspondingly high running and maintenance costs, combined with the withdrawl of a significant proportion of our financial facilities, have finally led us to a situation where we cannot continue to trade without substantial external investment. Hopefully, this will materialise within the next few weeks and SFC will be able to continue operating as a viable entity for the benefit of both the local community and all supporters. In the meantime, it is imperative taht we continue to fight for our Championship survival . Mark Wotte and the squad are completely focussed on the atsk in hand and I am confident that they can deliver the results we need over the coming few weeks"

Ok off I go then.

Is the Wilde piece been put up here anywhere??? If not I was up for typing it up and/or the Crouch piece as well

The vehicle is already there in The Saints Trust. If anyone was really serious about it then I'm sure this vehicle could be used for an initiative like this. I'm not talking about those individuals currently or previously involved (they would surely step aside), but if a shell company was needed then it's ideal in the first instance.

No, you're quite right, you used terms and descriptions much more colourful and outlandish in your descriptions and then included my name in stating it was me berating and offering out youngsters, families and old people when I was actually sat some 6 or 7 blocks away next to Exit2.:---):---):---) All complete bullsht of course and no wonder it was removed, so please forgive me if I take your rather belated faux apology with a pinch of salt. You're quite clearly either a fantasist, a liar or an internet weirdo and however many times you post under The Bear, Flashman, Sundance or your latest reincarnation your posts still don't et any better:rolleyes:

I don't often like to get personal, but you're quite right there. Winging it springs to mind when I read his drivel. I'd need to be on here full time to continually correct all his noddy assertions and assumptions.

I really don't know where to start in tearing this tripe apart, so will just have to leave it for now. Your analysis of the situation has been found wanting on numerous occasions from the 50% wage bill through to the 5million warchest left by Lowe, so I shouldn't be too surprised by this post on here today. You really have no clue about how events unfolded that year andyou've been making stuuf up as you go along for ages with this regards.
