  1. What about the option to retain Pearson and not employ the farcial Revolutionary Coaching Set Up? What about the option not to buy Schneiderlin and instead use that money to perhaps fund some more experienced players? What about the option not to bring in Robertson, Pekhart, Gasmi, Pulis, Forecast, Smith etc etc etc and instead use that money to fund some players who really would contribute to the team? What about the option of using some of the existing players rather than freezing them out? What about the options of playing more traditional tatcis as opposed to the flop that was Totale Voetball? What about the option of putting out a side under a manager who knew what he was doing, winning some games and getting more bums on seats and therefore getting more revenue??? Yeah, you're right, there was only way of going about this and it involved appointing a manager more at home in the Wessex League who knew fck all about the English game and led us to the brink of relegation and subsequent administration:rolleyes::rolleyes: Forget options, Total Voetball just had to happen:---):smt017
  2. So those three are some of the best players ever to grace Div 3???? LOL. You haven't been around long have you:rolleyes: What about any of the other 8????
  3. Given our recent form, we could easily win all five, but realistically I don't think we will (nothing wrong with oping we can though). We should be looking to win at least 2, maybe 3 and not lose at Watford and Blackpool. Even a defeat in there wouldn't be a bad thing (against Derby or Charlton) as long as we then beat Watford or Blackpool. 8 would be great, 9 will be fine. My gut feel is 7 points and it still not being sorted one way or the other.
  4. That will be the same Lucketti who played a big role in 4 of our last 5 games which helped us stay up. Playing alongside that rubbish loanee Chris Perry (wonder what happened to him after his loan period finished???) and that other waste of space loanee, Richard Wright. When you look at his judicous loans at Leicester and the players he picked up for us, then having a pop at Pearson's ability to spot short term solutions isn't one of the best lines of attack,:---):---) but don't let that get in the way of your rants at Pearson, Crouch et al. How about giving us your post-event analysis of the Poortvliet appointment and his contribution to football at Southampton and to the English game in general.
  5. Isn't it illegal to be talking to yourself:smt017
  6. And all managed without any reference to Totale Voetball!!!!!! Seems like Pearson is building his own team there, augmenting it with a view experienced pro's as I certainly don't remember any of that team from last season with the exception of Oaks, Howard and Fryatt. Certainly his words before and his actions since would suggest he would have been comfortable here, just such a shame Lowe had to bring in Poortvliet instead of him. And just fvor NickG, which are the really talented bestest players of the thrid tier ever in that starting 11 LMFAO?????
  7. Y'all has been plying up front with Saga under Wotte, Poortvliet froze him out so you've probably forgotten who he was.
  8. Good old (young) Adam Leitch: "He has built a reputation for forging promotion-winning teams on a limited budget by playing and developing the club's young players - something that must have appealed to Saints." "Then came a three season stint with Telstar, where Poortvliet built a team on a tiny budget using youngsters that gradually improved to the point where they reached the play-offs." "Last summer Poortvliet tried a fresh challenge with Helmand Sports, another club in the mould of those he had previously managed and the one he shortly will - one with limited money looking for promotion from the country's second tier of football using young players." How many times can you get youngsters and limited budgets in one piece LMFAO.:---):---) One can only presume that Lowe had gotten to Leitch who fell for it hook, line and sinker.:confused:
  9. Youve got to hold and give But do it at the right time You can be slow or fast But you must get to the line Theyll always hit you and hurt you Defend and attack Theres only one way to beat them Get round the back Catch me if you can Cos Im the england man And what youre looking at Is the master plan We aint no hooligans This aint a football song Three lions on my chest I know we cant go wrong (well he does sort of look like Barnes)
  10. I'm so fcking glad you couldn't be arsed to spend £5 to trouble us with more than three of your bllsht posts every day.:smt083
  11. Really???? You were happy to chip in with this little beauty a couple of weeks back and you seemed to know alot about them back then (or thought you did). And picking up on your last line, here was his starting line up yesterday: Stockdale, 23 Gilbert, 21 (loanee) Morrison, 20 Hobbs, 20 (loanee) Mattock 18 Cleverley, 19 (loanee) Oakley 31 King 20 Gradel, 21 Fryatt, 22 Howard 32 Stuffed with household names, experienced players, big wages & the best players for the third tier ever:---):---)
  12. Thanks for cheering up a gloomy Sunday evening (you've now got me chuckling at the last bit in bold). And as payback here's a straight lift from our OS (including grammatical and syntax errors!!!!!) when they were gushing over his CV: 2007/2008 - Helmond Sport (First Division - 6e - play-offs (one of the lowest budget division playing with kids) 2005/2004 - Telstar (First Division - 6th - play-offs) (one of the lowest budget in the division playing with kids) Who was responsible for letting that go up there (which the Echo repeated almost verbatim LMFAO:rolleyes:) http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/2306973.Introducing_new_Saints_head_coach_Jan_Poortvliet/
  13. The real cruncher has to be when season ticket renewals are announced. That's by far the best time to say "I'm not happy".
  14. I honestly don't think it was overly melodramatic as I think relegation will cause us massive problems, even bigger than the masive problems we faced when we were relegated last time around as I fear it will result in administration. Of course, we still might bumble along, but if we do go into administration then the points deduction, the inevitable firesale and the legacy of it will cause us huge problems for seasons to come. The very existence of the CLub will be threatened, and even if we do emerge from the other side (as I'm sure we will in some guise), then it will not be pretty. I have never shyed away from being honest that the blame for our predicament should be shared amongst quite a few people, past and present (I reckon our apportionment of where the blame lies would differ, but it's not all Lowe's fault). But my issue with this season is that it wasn't the season to gamble (just as Hone & co. shouldn't have gambled the year before!!!). We had a sense of unity, a promising manager and perhaps the chance to consolidate and bottom out. But for reasons of ignorance, arrogance and God knows what we gambled, a gamble that failed and a gamble that may prove very, very costly.
  15. I'm afraid you're wrong. What we are seeing now is no different from what we were doing for the first 28 games (it must just be that the other teams have all got worse). But honestly, you're spot on, in that Lowe and in particular Poortlviet were ignorant of the competition in this league and risked all pursuing a strategy that has almost cost the very existence of this Club. As well as ignorance, I think there was a large dash of arrogance in there as well.
  16. Granted some of Rasiak's goals must have come when he has come off the bench, but Soccerbase have that in his 113 starts he has scored 50 goals. Take out his sub appearances (haven't managed to take out the goals with them mind) and it looks like : Watford 4 in 9 Bolton 0 in 2 Saints 24 in 45 Spurs 0 in 4 Derby 18 in 41 That's a pretty healthy return when he gets a settled start in a team. I still can't get my head around how Burley treated both Saga & Rasiak following the play off season. IMHO Rasiak knows where the net is when he's a regular. As for Euell, then I have always thought he was a good player, but just thought he probably needs to be treated the right way. Under Pearson he blossomed and it would appear that Wotte is also getting the best out of him. Two totally different players for me. If you want someone who will score, then it has to be Rasiak, if you want someone to put it about, mix it up and provide some leadership then Euell.
  17. We are the envy of the world LMFAO :smt017:rolleyes::---)
  18. Hello Mr Pot. Considering some of the vitriolic attacks and insults towards many posters on here and others in the real world (e.g. Crouch, McMenemy et al), then I'm afraid that the last 0.5% of credibility you may have had has quickly vanished with the above post:rolleyes::rolleyes: You need to decide as to whether you will be nice Nineteen Canteen, rude Nineteen Canteen, Sundance Beast, Flashman, The Bear and whatever the other three monikers were and stick with that persona, because the good cop/bad cop is just so confusing;). From the man in the Itchen South/Chapel corner.
  19. I bought a large Rasberry Stolli last night and it cost me more than the £5 I've chipped in to help this site keep running. Of course it is frustrating when this site goes slow or crashes, but in a way it also shows how much we all want to visit and use this site, which makes the £5 a bargain. I'm sure those that run it are trying to do their best, they obviously want it to be a decent site and as far as I'm aware they aren't getting rich off of our fivers. I think a few collective steps backwards should be taken, a few virtual handshakes adminstered and everyone accept that they are after all trying to do their best.
  20. Not sure about Donny. We'd have to overhaul a 9 point gap in 10 matches and that's some freefall.
  21. Surely it has to be one team is dead and buried!!! Norwich are only 1 point behind us (with a better goal difference).
  22. Other midweek matches: Norwich v Cardiff (draw at best) Barnsley v Brum (draw at best) Watford v Forest (Want Watford to win I presume) Sheff Utd v Blackpool (no points for the Seasiders surely) Swansea V Plymouth (no points for the Pilgrims) With the exception of Watford v Forest, there's alot of tough matches there, so can't see how teams will pull away midweek.
  23. Like this season you mean with Leicester:D. Another fine win, and they must be almost there by now.
  25. It's not that mental. Barnsley are only 2 points ahead of us and although they have two games in hand, they will have to get something out of them to make it count. We have a game in hand on Forest and are only 4 pts behind them. 5 pts behind Blackpool with a game in hand. Effectively 6 behind Watford, but we do have to play them. 6 points behind Plymouth, but we have a game in hand. A point would have been good, but we now have two winnable home matches, then games against relegation rivals Blackpool (a) Charlton (h) Watford (a) Also noticed some of our relegation rivals are playing each other in coming weeks so some will have to lose (or only pick up the odd point)
