  1. Dellhurst has always been a good ground for Saints! lets hope it continues to be so!
  2. Kelvin Davies is the only one out although Yoshida and Wanyama had long international trips (Wanyama's was rather pointless as Kenya Sudan never took place)
  3. Must be the first time since Beckham Scholes Neville et al
  4. You mean like he was when we won 1-0 at Anfield!
  5. Agreed! Managing a young inexperienced team getting better every day the key is going to be trying to keep our young manager and young team together. If we do they will only get better.
  6. Good post! The team is very young, relatively inexperienced, playing good football and learning. The key is going to be can we hang on to the manager and team so that the fruits are enjoyed at Saints and not at other clubs!
  7. Yes Cortese excelled at attracting good talent but surely he did it with KL's money!
  8. Ramierez seems to be the only bright spot from today he looks better than before even though coming back from injury
  9. Cork is a good player but so is big Vic! Remember the first 10 matches of the season? He was one of our key defensive linchpins clearing up in front of the centre backs. We were, I recollect, the 2nd best defence in Europe after Roma with him in the side. It is no coincidence our defensive record deteriorated greatly after his and others injuries.
  10. I hate to say it but MLG is mathematically correct!
  11. Harping on? I made one statement and it is true the side we put out could and should have won! indeed even given the fact we played so poorly we still had the better chances or did you forget JWP's and Lamberts? The point I made is sunderlands team looked like they wanted it ours didn't
  12. Never mind the selections, the players on the pitch should and could have done the business, as did Sunderland's 9 replacements. My concern is our fringe players show no desire to improve and push for a team place and even the established players appeared strangely not that concerned. Lambert was going on about this being his last chance but he didn't play like it was did he? We were poor in getting and keeping possession in defending and in attack. Sunderland's replacements, on the other hand, whilst being far poorer on paper ran their hearts out! The lack of commitment from the players on the field is what annoys me!
  13. When we finally get better alternatives till then we are stuck with them!
  14. So poor but there was no desire no closing down no possession Sunderland won the jack pot rested nine and won All we got were three yellow cards lost confidence and tired players!
  15. Would still be better than the lot today though!
  16. Hughie Fisher scored a last minute equalising goal at villa away in 76
  17. The miss by Lambert just caps it
  18. Bring Guly and JWP back on we were better with them!
  19. where is our possession and closing down? seems to have deserted us today! we are giving free kicks away so cheaply too!
  20. Time for the subs?
  21. Wow glad you are not in charge of our club
  22. We need a bit more bite
  23. Every kick by Kelvin is out of play
