  6. Me too - and top totty for me undoubtedly the Swiss boys The UK entry was sung flat in a couple of places and what a dreadful costume she was wearing!

  8. Good luck! Let us know how it goes - Mr TF has just been made redundant and setting up on his own is one option he's considering so I'd be interested to know how you find things. What's your particular skill / specialty? All the best

  14. AND Spurs lose their last match, surely?
  15. I remember years ago there was a young man who lived in my village (and who used to babysit for me) who captained England's U18s and signed, or was about to sign, for West Ham. He broke his leg and the most he ever achieved thereafter was to play for Wycombe Wanderers before they were in the FL. Sad to think that such an injury would probably not have ruined his career had it happened today.
  16. UKIP seems to have more than most TBF
  17. Turn it on its head - someone who abhors racism wouldn't dream of using a racist word.
  18. Pap - I imagine he was being ironic / sarcastic. He is probably one of the last people I would expect to post this as genuine!
  19. So it's OK to be racist, sexist, mysoginist etc. etc. as long as it makes money? Strange values.
  20. My late aunt was fortunate enough to appear in Pennies from Heaven with him. She always said he was a lovely man. That was such a ground-breaking drama too. Very sad news
  21. And I think there are more reasons Barry. I'm old enough that I had a choice about whether to work once I had my children because, in those days, families generally could manage on a single wage. Then came the Right To Buy phenomenon and suddenly property prices rocketed. It was fine for the likes of my generation who'd already bought houses but for the next generation it required a household to be a two earning unit to afford the astronomical rise in house prices. I feel very sorry for today's young families. It's hard work bringing up a family and both having to work full time, let alone having to deal with the 'well you shouldn't have kids if you can't afford to have one parent at home' lot. Never mind that we need young families to at least replace themselves by having two children in order to pay for us oldies!
  22. "A Lloyds spokesman said Islamic accounts were intended for customers who cannot receive or pay interest under sharia, but were available to anyone, regardless of their faith."
