'Take a view on......' - why not just say 'think about'?

My daughter found her 3 year old son sitting on the bottom step of the stairs yesterday. She asked him what he was doing and he said 'I'm on the naughty step Mummy because I threw a ball in the sitting room and I'm not allowed to throw a ball indoors'. So then she told him he was a good boy for being honest but he decided he hadn't had a long enough punishment and stayed there a while longer. She had to walk away so that he didn't see her laugh.

Here's an interesting article for those of you who like statistics and probability http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-18976333

I know a few non Jamaican people from the East End of London who use it too and have done for donkey's years.

What an afternoon for the girls! First of all, almost non-existent skin-tight male divers' trunks and now some very, very handsome male gymnasts (especially the German, Philip Boy). Corrrrr

Says the boy who consistently fails to capitalise 'I' in previous posts and who posted this in the Ryanair thread: Do you just show the booking confirmation email (it doesn't say nothing about it on the boarding passes i've printed out)?

There have been quite a few murders in Bournemouth recently according to the press.

Not the best of days so far today either. Female archers out; badminton mixed pair out. And Adlington just scraped into the 400m final. And it looks like the mens' 4 x 100 relay team is out too.

Hmm yes, I know that Chin. But CB earlier was implying that the BBC taters didn't know what they were talking about. Whereas, clearly, they did!
-
Wasn't Chris Boardman one of the taters? Oh yeah, you're right. He knows nothing about cycling.

Dire so far - I thought we were going to have 'home advantage'

. But he's never really had a good voice anyway, has he. Tom Jones' voice has got better as he's aged and he's older than Macca I think. And there's nothing wrong with Elton's voice.

Not my agenda - I'm not a Guardian reporter. I did enjoy it for what it was, a celebration of all things great about Britain. I said that earlier.

"Cameron and his gang will surely not dare to continue the dismemberment of the NHS after this." from http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/jul/28/richard-williams-olympic-opening-ceremony?CMP=SOCNETTXT6965

I'm almost speechless - I was quite tearful at times (very unlike me) - especially at the cauldron bit. I am so, so proud to be British and I thought it was unique and a celebration of our phenomenal contribution to advances in the world. But oh dear me - Macca. No - it was cringeworthy. And I do think HMaj could have tried to look interested.
-
And he's still so jaw-droppingly gorgeous

Apparently they've all got handsets that are computer generated (so the commentators said). Something like 40 days to wire up the stadium.

Get-go - what's wrong with 'start' or 'beginning'? FFS

I stand corrected (by the OED) but to my mind it still should be marque because that signifies a leading (brand). I hadn't heard of the American theatre billing bit before. I'll just block my ears from now on.
