  1. I am one! Go me! (or, rather, go us as Mr TF has given up too) My SiL gave up quite easily with SkyCig electronic cigarettes so we decided to give them a go - and it worked. I'd recommend them.
  2. I heard a report on the radio the other day suggesting that all water will be metered eventually and that, put simply, every household will be charged at one rate for general needs and at a higher rate for stuff like car washing, ponds, swimming pools and watering the garden. Not quite sure how that would work - I guess they'd estimate general needs and then charge useage over and above that at a higher rate. I would hope that they would take into account that one person's general needs are not the same as another person's general needs. I've found a link to the item but it doesn't go into much detail http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_9726000/9726538.stm
  3. Not a criticism - why are some of you against water meters? We saved a small fortune when we moved from a 'rateable value' system to a metered system.
  4. Not my question - someone else asked it but I didn't see an answer: How are they able to sell season tickets? IIRC we weren't allowed to when we were in administration.
  5. I don't know anything about repairing washing machines.
  6. I would be mightily obliged if you would copy and paste this - unless you are actually saying that I didn't say this but that someone like me did? I did, and still do, support the IDEA - the philosophy, if you will - behind the Euro. But I did say that G Brown was right to not consider the UK's participation until it passed his 5 golden rules. I don't recall saying you were paranoid. At least not in connection with this particular issue Perhaps it was the person / people who are 'like' me? (Hmmm - I thought I was unique )
  7. The BBC webpage has more info: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18324804 I think it's because they think the colour and the dragon will appeal to football fans in the far East and so develop the club's image and, as a consequence, it's finances.
  8. After reading other replies, I think my 'solution' wouldn't cover what you're trying to do. My answer covered linking in changeable data from other sources but it could be applied to link different sheets in the same document. But I think you're looking for something more sophisticated than that. However, if you haven't got the answer you're looking for by Wednesday night, I'll ask my daughter on Thursday (if I remember). She is an IT project manager and does programming and very complicated spreadsheeting all the time.
  9. Pic of my two grandchildren, both with face painting and both eating blue banana flavoured icecream cones.
  10. I didn't realise you lived in the same road as Dune!
  11. Living as I do in Omnishambler Dave's constituency, I was surprised to note that there is no bunting in the constituency's biggest town. Maybe they'll do a U turn.
  12. Thank you for asking. Yes I did. It wasn't staining that had been 'allowed to build up' - it was limescale as we live in a hard water area.
  13. Using your 'logic' then I guess you live in a dump since you're on here more than I am. But then, if you've only got to look after yourself, I guess you live in your own mire quite happily. As if the views of an internet nerd matter to me more than the views of my partner
  14. No, I do all the housework and all the laundry and gardening. But then I've retired so have more time available apart from the two days a week when I look after my grandchildren. It's called sharing the load, but I guess you wouldn't understand that concept unless you were in a good relationship.
  15. Can you set up your 'reporting' spreadsheets first and then, in the master sheet, put in = followed by clicking back into the reporting spreadsheet and doing copy and paste on the relevant cell? Then every time you amend a reporting spreadsheet, it will automatically change the info in the master spreadsheet. It's been a few years since I've done spreadsheets, but I'm pretty sure that's what I used to do when I was picking up NHS data provided on an internal server (i.e. data another department had entered but that I could pick up on).
  16. Err - not if he's on a night shift, duckie. He really enjoys cooking and finds it a good way to wind down. But, when he's on a day shift, I prepare the ingredients because he's worked a 14 hour day and there isn't a huge amount of time left before he has to sleep, ready to start the next shift.
  17. We always had roast on Sundays (unless it was going to be hot day, in which case we'd pack up a picnic and head off to Hayling Island for the day). Then cold cut (leftovers) on Mondays and - if there was still any roast left - scouse or stew on Tuesdays. Can't remember any routine meals for Wednesdays and Thursdays, but always fish on Fridays even though we weren't Catholics. Can't remember anything routine for Saturdays. These days we don't have any set meals for particular days and what we have depends on Mr TF's shift pattern, since he does most of the cooking.
  18. I hated sprouts when I was a little girl but I was forced to eat them When my own children were little, I'd always cook sprouts for our Sunday roast and I'd always eat 4 of them so that my children wouldn't think there was anything 'wrong' with sprouts (I'd be gagging like crazy though). My now grown up children all love sprouts - in fact one daughter saves some to eat cold the next day (shudder). And now my grandchildren all happily eat sprouts. And Jilly you're right on about differences in families all raised on the same diet. I loathe cucumber - my brother loves it!
  19. I THINK the interpretation is that a club can't start AND end in the same administration period. They came out of Admin 1 and are now in Admin 2. If they're still in Admin 2 at the end of the forthcoming season, then I think they would be further penalised.
  20. Use Saint Si's link and look at regulation 16.14 and 16.15 (especially 16.15.1 © and (d) that would cover Lampitt). That does also seem to imply that ancilliary staff are not 'employees'.
  21. According to Wiki (yeah, yeah - I know) - a football club creditor is a player, another club owed money, and staff and it implies it's ALL staff. Other short articles from various law firms either say it's just football staff (i.e. players, coaches, managers) or it's just 'staff'. I'm sure I read somewhere before that the ancilliary staff hadn't been paid last time around.

  23. In the interests of balance, it's worth pointing out that the police themselves have said that too much shouldn't be read into these arrests and that the police also reminded us all that, previously, two other people had been arrested but released without charge. In no way am I defending this couple if it is proved to be that they started the fire. However I'm not prepared to convict them until and unless they are tried.
