The only place he's scored a noteworthy amount of goals is in the Maltese league Years Team Apps† (Gls)† 1997–2001 Sliema Wanderers 80 (60) 2001–2003 Kaiserslautern 21 (2) 2003–2004 Sliema Wanderers 12 ( 8 ) 2004–2007 Lillestrøm 48 (17) 2007–2009 Coventry City 86 (16) 2009 → Barnsley (loan) 15 (2) We should be looking at players who are a bit more prolific IMO we need a backup target-man (not that I'd say no to Jackson or Barnard though!)

Quick and causes problems, but his goal record is actually p!ss poor
-
Not sure, but it seems to happen more often than not now. Can we have the away tickets seperated into 2 types? One allocation for football fans and another for football factory fans?
-
I seem to remember when we played them in the CCC back in 2005, the "yoof" thought it was a good idea to try and start a chant of "will we see you lot outside?", if they could refrain from that this time and not make us look like a bunch of lairy idiots, that'd be greatly appreciated. Let's hope the majority of our support are going for the beer and 3 points, sadly there'll be some knobs.

He's from Barnstaple, so he's probably inbred...... Likes picking on midgets though
-
Gonna be a goodun, I only have good memories of the The New Den. Anyone at the FA Cup replay there where we won in extra time can testify to that. The other game was 1st season in the CCC where we beat them and Theo gave them the absolute runaround whilst they were trying to kick lumps out of him!
-
Hopefully they'll have some on the day, I've not got two pennies to rub together until Friday, the festive period is too bloody expensive! If I do go, looking forward to a few jars at the Hole in the Wall before moving on to London Bridge!
-
I don't get paid until Friday and can't get down to the ticket office before it shuts, anyone know if it's possible to book over the phone on Friday and collect at The New Den? Or if indeed they will sell to away fans on the day?

Pardew the Seducer - Jose Fonte: Why I had to leave Crystal Palace
oxfordshire_saint replied to John B's topic in The Saints
Lighten up, we were just pointing out that every other news source seemed to get their facts right, yet these guys clearly just had a stab in the dark. If I really wanted to have a dig I'd point out that Sporting Lisbon have arguably one of the finest academies in Europe, the article was an insult to the top quality staff they have who've nurtured some of Europe's best players over the years (Figo and Ronaldo to name the most high profile). Whereas this article credits Porto, who despite their domestic domination of the last few years, regularly fail to produce any real stars from their own academy. I expect the journo in question to be sacked by the morning, maybe even publicly hanged (we do still allow that don't we?) -
To be honest, I don't think going shopping at the World Cup is a good idea. Pretty much all of the European sides contain players who probably wouldn't be interested in playing 2nd/3rd tier English football which leaves us with the other continents. Although some clubs have had success with players from exotic nations, like some of the Hondurans Wigan have signed, it's more likely that they'll be another Kleberson, Djemba-Djemba or dare I say it, Delgado, waiting to happen. I think the Pards tactic of looking at proven League 1/CCC players is the way forward.

Pardew the Seducer - Jose Fonte: Why I had to leave Crystal Palace
oxfordshire_saint replied to John B's topic in The Saints
Sloppy journalism at it's best! "errrr, he's Portuguese isn't he? Where did he play before Palace?" "I dunno, name a big Portuguese club" "I saw Man Utd play Porto on the telly once, they'll do" -
She used to get ****ed by Arabs, so she'd probably be more at home at Pompey...... "Cassie was later revealed an escort by the News Of The World, selling her body for £1000 an hour mostly to Arab clients"

If Jackson played for Leeds he would score more goals. He's got a better touch and is a better or at least equal finisher, plus his temperament is better. Also, Jackson's an international Oh and we aren't badly off for strikers? So if Lambert gets injured, what have we got? Connolly, great signing but fitness is still not that consistent. Paterson, can't handle it yet and Saganowski, doesn't want to be here.......

Jackson is better than Beckford, I pray this move comes off

We're in an economic meltdown, up until this season the football's been garbage for the last few years and ticket prices haven't really came down that much and we're in the 3rd tier. All of the above contribute to low attendances, it's the same for every club. Fair play to season ticket holders, I applaud the commitment, but I switch off when they take the "I'm a better fan than you" approach. Since I was able to afford to go to football regularly (2002) I've been to 15-20 games a season consistently, with at least 4 or 5 of those every year being away games, this is all I can afford to do with the time and money that I have. I know Saints fans who can only get to 3 or 4 games a season, I don't consider myself any better than them. The only fans of any clubs I will ever rip on are the ones who constantly spout off about their club despite going to 0 games and only ever seeing them from the comfort of their armchair when their team is live on Sky. Personally I think our attendances are bloody good at the moment and show we truly are a big club.

Spain is full of these resorts to be honest, La Manga isn't that unique. I played here and it was f'in lovely: http://www.mpfsmarbella.com/

If he can get a midfielder and striker in, I'll be happy. We need someone to give Lambert and Connolly some competition for places.
-
Interesting comment about taking a punt on someone who's not having the best of times right now
-
Fonte, family man? His family are now all back in Portugal as his brother Rui joined Sporting Lisbon in the summer (I believe he's now loaned out to a smaller Portuguese side) and he's knobbing a "glamour" model who has a track record of gold-digging and prostitution?

BD is one of those managers who you'd love to have as your gaffer but if he's managing the opposition then he's an irritable little gob****e.
-
I love how all the supporters representatives say they saw it coming and raised concerns. No you weren't chumps, you were all giddy about the trophy you managed to buy on credit and pointing and laughing at us. Now the arse has fallen out, your JCLs have buggered off and we're on the up, woop! Maybe they can go over to Horton Heath and de-stress, if it's good enough for the manager......
-
"I want to thank the fans for their continued support" All 16,000 of them at every home game....... "I kick every ball, head every ball, make every tackle" I suppose he has to, the players certainly don't
-
Even with their soon to be short-lived Prem status, I doubt Burnley can afford to throw massive amounts of cash around. Their ground is pretty small by Prem standard and I doubt they generate that much income. Rather than have to pay compo for a currently employed manager they'd be better off getting someone currently out of work and spending money on the team instead. Down with the Pompey, they're going down with the Pompey........
