F*cking hell, how many times does it need to be said? He scored a load of goals in the Championship for a poor Scunny team, has scored numerous times against Rangers and has scored against decent teams in Europe.

It's a gamble, but every transfer is. I'm sure Chelsea fans were very happy with the signing of Torres but what a monumental failure he's been and he's a world class striker who has done it at the highest level. As someone else said, if Hooper carries on like he is at the moment, there will be plenty of interest (I believe there was some Premiership interest back in the summer!) later on, so we may as well take the gamble now before someone else does.

I thought Lennon said another team had made a bid/shown interest (I swear Adkins commented on something similar to that, that Lennon had said?) I'd hope there isn't anyone else interested though as that would only serve to drive the price even higher. What does it matter that other teams aren't interested anyway? There could be hundreds of reasons why other teams interested aren't prepared to bid just right now.
