He has had two separate knee injuries throughout last year so you could well be right. -
Who will be our No1 keeper next season
The Curse of St Mary's replied to Markyruk's topic in The Saints
Just read he is known for his shot stopping ability and decisive dealing of crosses which sells it for me. Complete opposite to Bazuna then! I seem to recall made some good saves at St Marys back in December. One year left on his contract. Seems more like a back up type signing rather than straight in as the #1. -

I have a 36 minute wait as I type which will see me in at about 1220. I'm hoping at 1230 I have the option to buy appear so I have ten minutes to place order 😨 otherwise if I have to re-enter I will be screwed no doubt 🤞 -

What happens to the remaining 15-20k of tickets - corporates and club wembley seats I assume? Will there be anyway to get tickets once saints sell out their allocation? -

Apparently Che didn't get off the coach 😲 Maybe he was snuck in through the backdoor to detour WBA tactics 🤞😬 -

Whose got off the coach? 👀 -
Sure Martin has made lots of mistakes and he has admitted to making lots this season but the absolute killer game for me was Boro at home where we played very well and created a bucket load of chances but dire finishing meant the three points slipped through our fingers (plus suspect KWP defending of course). Not sure Martin could have done anymore with that particular game. Down to individuals not doing their job in my book.

WBA 0-0 Saints - SF 1st Leg Match Thread
The Curse of St Mary's replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
I thought we were really passive at times today. Most of the pressure from WBA was a result of us not getting into them and allowing them to cross the ball unopposed especially Manning. We handled most things thrown at us and we had a keeper who did his job today which was a pleasant surprise. In attack we lacked creativity yet still had a golden chance to score with Downes. Obviously Che was a massive miss today. Arma was poor but he was alongside Mara who is appalling. So lazy and ineffective it's embarrassing RM continues to give him chances. Hopefully Che back Friday and our more creative players will have the ball in more dangerous areas. Downes was decent and Bednarek covered some inadequacies shown by both THB and JS today. McCarthy did his job well enough bar one brain part moment. Smallbone should not be taking set pieces. They really are horrific. -

Anyone know what WBA away allocation is or will be at St Marys? Hopefully we reciprocate by giving them just the minimum 2,000 tickets. -
He's 31 years old and last season didn't have the necessary coaching badges so Reims were fined more than €20k each game. He decided to become a coach off the back of playing football manager. His Reims team went on a 17 match unbeaten run. Basically he's a Jose Mourinho wannabe 😁. No playing career of note but seems to have a knack for management. One to watch.

Will Still will leave Reims at the end of the season. Does Rasmus have him on his excel spreadsheet I wonder? 🤔

A relegated team are not going to bust a gut to help their Yorkshire rivals. It would be an absolute freak result for Huddersfield to win imo. Both saints and Leeds are in terrible form so do they want to win build some confidence or does that risk giving away too much ahead of a potential playoff final showdown? At least saints have had longer to get their heads around the fact they weren't going up automatically so Leeds maybe the version of ourselves at Leicester. It's risky taking bad form into the playoffs as at least one team will have some momentum. It takes a lot of bravery and confidence to play the Russell Martin way so it does concern me especially if we lose easily against Leeds.
-
The best teams make sure they don't concede when on top despite missing chances to put game to bed. The Boro game was the absolute killer even though we still had a lifeline had we beaten Cardiff. We should have beaten Boro by a few goals but you don't allow opposition a free header in the 90th minute. Completely unacceptable to not be touch tight and to also allow the cross to come in so unchallenged.
-
We are way too open but at the same time Bazuna has made very few beyond expected saves. Watford away and Ipswich away are just some examples where is inept shot saving ability has cost us crucial points.
-
Defending in PL2 is very poor in general but it does seem despite us being at full strength for this game the kamikaze defending has filtered down into the younger teams.
-
The amount of chances conceded today is appalling. Both Norwich and WBA will be hoping they play us. We are dreadful
-
RM has many flaws and we would be ripped too pieces by most teams in the PL with his tactics but had Flynn Downes not missed ten games and Ross Stewart stayed fit after his original injury we'd be automatically promoted most likely imo.
-
QPR actually look decent. Leeds look really dodgy at the back. Lots of games we can look back on and have regrets but for me that Boro game was the ultimate sucker punch. We then might have managed the Ipswich game sensibly and played out a draw.

Smallbone is no Stu Armstrong but he's a far better option than Rothwell. Unless Smallbone has a knock it's another baffling selection from RM. -

Leicester midfield will dominate although their defence isn't great so hopefully we can out score them but can't see it unfortunately
