A glorious day yesterday filled with pride
Sarnia Cherie replied to Francis1947's topic in The Saints
Turns out we are the same age but I was a young woman, way back, and now an old dear. I enjoyed the TV documentary Warship when it was on. Very interesting to go behind the scenes and good to see so many youngsters in the service, especially girls. -

We read and sometimes respond to our fellow supporters on here but know nothing about them as people. It was interesting to read a little about your time in the Royal Navy. If your username is a clue to your dob then we are almost the same age. The world is very different to the one we grew up in and in many ways it hasn't changed for the better. I'm glad you had such a great day out and took the time to share it with the forum. -
I am so sorry to hear about your father-in-law. I am unable to help but hope that someone amongst our lovely supporters will be able to find a way. What struck me is that years ago a story like this would have spurred both clubs into getting you and your family to the game. Sadly, big business has got in the way of human kindness, compassion and understanding. I hope you all get to the game to remember someone who clearly meant the world to you all.

Carlo Ancelotti is rumoured to be leaving Real Madrid. Russball would be right up their street. 😂

No way are we getting maximum points from the last games. Not with the likes of Fulham, City and Arsenal lying in wait.
-
We have hardly started winning but the occasional goal has been scored and that's more than can be said for Leicester. We still need another point to swerve Derby County's record and Leicester seems the best bet from our remaining games.
-
Leicester relegated. Suddenly that essential point we need seems very likely.
-
Surely we can squeeze one more point before the end of the season. It's like pulling teeth but more painful and no anaesthetic.

There will be a few thinking just the same and wondering what might have been had that happened.

I hope this ruling makes the younger generation stop and think about what it means to be transgender. There will always be some who are convinced they should be the other gender but far too many young people and by that I mean under 21-25's are making the life changing decision to change sex. As a teenager I changed my mind all the time about things. Those wishing to change should have to get past the experimental stages of sexual orientation and have to live in that other gender for a couple of years until they are absolutely certain they are doing the right thing. As it is there are young people going to court saying that nobody challenged their decisions and made it all too easy and they now regret it.

I have no idea why Robbie Savage is considered a pundit. Mind you, there are others just as bad. I cannot stand Clinton Morrison to name just one. The worst pairing for me is Jamie Carragher and Jamie Redknapp. Liverpool bias with bells on.

How many times do you see that happening? An ex-player turning it up a gear.

Villa left themselves too much to do after the first leg. All credit to them, they didn't give up even after PSG's 2 early goals. They dug in and almost managed it. I wish our lot had the same fighting spirit.

Remember when you were last happy as a Saints fan
Sarnia Cherie replied to Lard's topic in The Saints
I remember the match where we were home to Liverpool and went 2-0 down in a short time. Koeman's clever substitutions turned the game around. Mane scoring and then, I think, Pelle equalising. As if that wasn't enough Mane banged in another to give us all 3 points. Still very clear in my memory is Ronald Koeman who was recovering from foot surgery, running as best he could along the touchline to celebrate the 3rd goal. I think that took us to somewhere like 6th in the League. Happy days. -
Just what I was thinking.

To a 77 year old like me the world has gone bloody mad. I have to ask my children and grandchildren what are the right words these days before I say something that offends. Too many people are so touchy over the slightest thing. My 16 year old grandson told me he had met a girl he liked. He said she was the first one who wasn't either gay or non-binary. I had to ask my daughter what non-binary meant. Wish I hadn't asked.

I try to be an optimist by nature and Christ Almighty, you have to be supporting this lot but I am not worrying about next season yet. First up I want us to scrape 2 points from somewhere, anywhere, to swerve Derby County's title. I will wait to see who the new manager is and who our team consists of before worrying. There's been far too much of that this season and I'm not going to spend the summer in the same frame of mind.

Mariela Nisotaki - New Head of Talent Acquisition

An encouraging response. Thank you. -
Sounds like a mate for Rasmus. Another self-obsessed idiot.

If you want to upset the apple cart just mention a woman. Perhaps just give her a chance? The male of the species haven't made a roaring success of things have they? -
He must tick a lot of boxes for SR. They are masters at creating chaos.

You say that but even now that relegation is confirmed I can't help wondering if Rusk and Lallana just might pull something out of the bag. I am ever the optimist.
-
Why is my newspaper telling me that Saints now hold the record for the swiftest relegation in Premier League history? Derby County were relegated on 29th March 2008 so that's an earlier date. Am I missing something, apart from that straw that's just out of reach.

Vardy and Martin. Made for each other!
