  1. Why was Slot on the touchline? I thought he'd been shown a red card at the end of the Everton v L:iverpool earlier in the week. Do the refs turn a blind eye to him, too?
  2. That's exactly what should happen. He is being paid, far too much, to kick a ball around a patch of grass. He isn't particularly good at it but he has now thrown his toys out of his pram and refuses to play, so he shouldn't be paid. If we are not seeing Harwood-Bellend for the same reason then he shouldn't be paid, either.
  3. So do I. He needs to move away from this caricature of a football club and take Dibling with him. Both deserve much better.
  4. Juric reminds me of a bewildered Arthur Askey. Only those of a certain age will know what I mean.
  5. You're a lost cause, mate, like the rest of us.
  6. Most of the team look as if they are running through treacle. That's when they aren't standing still. It would be interesting to see what their training sessions consist of.
  7. Man City with a mountain to climb at the Bernabeu. Oh dear, what a shame, never mind.
  8. I am struggling to find any hope for this game. Bournemouth are everything I would love Saints to be. They have European football to play for and they won't be letting us stand in their way. 0-3.
  9. I remember my eldest son coming home and saying he had followed a van with a sticker in the back window saying 'Come home, Agent Redknapp, your mission is accomplished;. He said what a good job I hadn't been with him.

    Ivan Juric

I agree. There was a faint glimmer of hope in his first couple of games but that has been snuffed out very quickly. Where on earth do SR find this endless line of clowns?
  11. If you mean we may have drawn Plymouth Argyle in the next round they would dispatch is in the same way they did Liverpool. I haven't see a Saints team play with the enthusiasm and determination that the Plymouth players showed yesterday in a very long time.

    Ivan Juric

And who is that likely to be? Nathan Jones, Reuben Selles, Russell Martin and Ivan Juric. All on SR's watch. I have zero faith in their ability to appoint a decent manager.
  13. Burnley have only let 9 goals in this season compared to our 36. Who's second string?
  14. Saints beating Man U 6-3 as the United players couldn't see each other, according to Fergie.
  15. I will have to cheer on Spurs for my Dad tonight. His mate, Len Duquemin, was the first Channel Islander to play big time football when he joined Spurs in Division 1 in 1950. I can picture my Dad with his chair pulled up to a tiny black and white TV screen to watch Spurs in the FA Cup final. They had already won the League. He had 2 bottles of beer by the side of his chair and a signed photo of Len on top of the TV. He had the sound on the TV turned down and had the radio on as he reckoned the wireless, as it was called then, gave a better commentary. A football fanatic and a great Dad. Come on you Spurs!!!
  16. You are wise not to use Wickes. My daughter and son-in-law chose Wickes and not only were the units not fit for purpose for a busy family kitchen but they also had the installers from Hell. The job which was booked for 8 working days took over 3 months. Wickes after sales service was pathetic. Once they have your cash they are not interested. The Area Manager reluctantly came to have a look and was appalled at the 18 fitting errors. For example, the extractor fan was not fitted using the pack provided but by strips of duct tape. We eventually had a lovely installer from Wickes who righted all the wrongs but we wouldn't use them again. I have friends who have used Wren without any problem.
  17. Perhaps Juric doesn't want him because Armstrong has shown himself to be, at best, a Championship player. Juric may be looking long term and feels that although AA would be ok for us next season, if we managed to get promoted at the end of that season, we are back to square one where AA is concerned. We must learn from our mistakes and sticking with AA when we know his capabilities would be pointless. I like the fact that Juric is thinking long-term.
  18. Just up SR's street.
  19. I always feel there is a sarcastic side to Pep. He may have been smiling when he spoke about Martin but deep down, he was thinking what a prat. You always know when Guardiola is under pressure, he reaches for his water bottle. He's drunk a lot of water this season, has Pep.
  20. He was a character and no mistake, as was Grobbelaar. Are there any characters like this in today's football?
  21. Dave Beasant! If I remember rightly, when he was Chelsea's goalie, he gave a masterclass of comic proportions by scoring 2 own goals. He was on the transfer market pretty quickly after that. Cue Southampton! 😀
  22. Southampton are blacklisted after selling them Fraser Forster. He has been a calamity this season.
  23. It's been a disaster all round. How much easier for an SEN pupil to go to their local Primary and Secondary schools and get an education tailored for them with the specialist teachers and resources on site. They can go to school with their siblings and friends and be like everyone else. Instead they are sent miles to be educated and at an enormous cost which is desperately needed elsewhere. I don't understand why politicians can't see that.
  24. I grant you that the Tories did nothing during their years in Government but State schools have been declining for longer than 14 years. In an ideal world mainstream schools should have the necessary funding for specialist teachers and resources on their staff to teach the SEN children they have. There would be no need to send these children to private specialist schools, with the eye-watering fees being paid for by the local authority. Councils could use that money for other needs in the area. I have 2 grandchildren with SEN issues. They began their education at the local Primary but within a couple of years they were going to specialist schools. My 15 year old grandson is autistic and my 11 year old granddaughter has dyslexia. Neither of their Primary schools had the teachers or resources to provide them with an education and every child is entitled to that. Both have their fees of around £20,000 a year each plus transport costs of £900 each a year, paid for by the County Council. Times that by the thousands of SEN children in the country and the cost is astronomical. The sad thing is that these children could have received their education for nothing if only the Governments' had had the foresight to fully staff and resource their State schools.
