  1. That's a CATastrophy for the Hammers.
  2. Oh dear Danny, where did it all go wrong? How have you managed to end up in such a shite team as Villa.
  3. Has there been interest from Chelsea in Salisu? Hope not and not sure I'd use him as a bargaining chip even for Broja who is top quality.
  4. Just goes to prove what a flawed system it is.
  5. Agree KWP looked very comfortable in the more advance role but he is currently far better than Tino at full back especially defensively. Also wouldn't take Stuart Armstrong out of the team. Ok, he missed a few decent chances yesterday but we need his driving runs when he carries the ball up the pitch and also he needs game time to get his fitness levels back to normal after missing so many matches. He's getting stronger so not the time to remove him from the starting line up in my opinion.
  6. Thought I'd bump this thread. Maybe others in the team have made greater strides of late and Salisu gets less mentions because he makes the game look so easy. Given his age and potential I genuinely wouldn't swap him for VVD. He glides across the ground and covers the back four to snuff out danger. His knack of being in the right place at the right time is uncanny. Salisu's decision making is another strong point, he makes up his mind when to make his tackle or interception and usually comes away with the ball. For me he is among the best centre backs in the Premier League and is one of our best ever signings.

    Whats changed?

As others have said we seem to be managing games better and conserving enough energy to compete for 90 minutes. We look to be prepared to take periods of rest making us stronger in the second half. Man Utd under Ragnick seem to be experiencing what we were going through when we conceded lots of goals after half time.

    Whats changed?

Didn't Ralph mention something about the black box and the work of the analysists which revealed some key element to our play we've been working on? Sure he said something along those lines but for obvious reasons he didn't give too much away.
  9. Also 8 of our remaining 14 games are at home.
  10. Or we made them look shite 🙂
  11. Yes and I'm liking the fact that, even though he's a full back, he is not shy on getting deep into the opposition territory and having efforts on goal. He's been unlucky so far but is certainly due for one to go in.
  12. We need a fast start and to put them under pressure because they showed against Newcastle they'll crumble. I think they are ok when things are going their way but not equipped to withstand the onslaught I'm hoping we send their way from the first minute.
  13. And you haven't even mentioned Salisu who is like a Rolls Royce at the back 🙂
  14. Red Cafe post match comments is well worth a read 🙂 One disgruntled fan saying he'd rather have Che Adams up front than Ronaldo - I'll agree with him on that. Those who aren't all bitter and twisted are quite complimentary about us with some admitting we outplayed them and deserved to win whilst one suggests we made them look like the away team. One names Romeu as man of the match and another asks who'd have thought five Southampton players would get into Utd's starting eleven - think it was KWP, JWP, Romeu, Salisu and Broja.
  15. We are starting to score some quality team goals from open play with incisive, crisp passing, good running off the ball and excellent decision making. We are not reliant on opponents making big mistakes. We have scored many superb goals so far this season. Danny who?
  16. Those partnerships I mentioned after the Spurs game were very evident again today. We can add in the fact that Stevens came on at half time and paired up strongly with Salisu plus Tino came on at right back and KWP looked comfortable in the more advanced role. This side is growing. Another fine goal from Che from what was by no means an easy chance. We may give someone a bit of a battering soon if we can be more ruthless in front of goal.
  17. Amen to that!
  18. Some good points but let's not forget the best strikers like Salah, Jota, Kane, Lukaku, Vardy all miss plenty of gilt edged chances and they are far more experienced at this level. What sets them apart is that they keep getting in the positions to score and never shy away from taking shots on and I think Broja is in the same mould. Sure, he'll miss a few but he'll get chances every game and over a season will convert enough to make a top goal scorer. The lad is very talented.
  19. Another superb performance from the boys. This team now has that very important component of a strong spine and boy does it show. To come away from Old Trafford slightly disappointed with a draw shows the progress we are making. Now we need to make the most of our easier upcoming games so that this effort is not for nothing. We should be looking upwards now rather than over our shoulder. This is a very good football team and very good entertainment value as well. Hats off to Ralph and the coaching staff. Proud of this club right now.
  20. In truth if offered 4 points from consecutive away games at City, Spurs and Utd we'd have taken it without question. We have those 4 points in the bag with a game to spare. Maybe it would be considered greedy to expect any more but you never know. Most of us would have been delighted to keep the damage to the goal difference down, reset and move on to an easier run of games.

    Che Adams

Very important member of the team for me. He has great upper body strength which he knows how to use making him difficult to shift off the ball. Super at hold up play and works like a trojan throughout 90 minutes and still looks to have a bit in the tank at the end of games. We all know his finishing could be more clinical at times but he keeps the goal tally ticking over and it was nice to see him score with a header against Spuds. What I also like is that he seems to be the type of player who learns and improves as his career progresses. Think there is a lot more to come from Che and excited to watch his development.
  22. Sticking with the VAR theme is it time to bin the ridiculous calling the ref to take a second look on the pitch-side monitor? We all know the result, the ref never sticks with his original decision so just tell him he's wrong, let him change his mind and get on with the game rather than delaying things whilst this charade is played out.
  23. Brilliant from Elyounoussi because he plays a nice pass in the build up then gets on his bike to arrive in the box making it impossible for Spurs to track him before cooly tucking away the header.
  24. Delboy would have been proud of the business we did with Leicester.
  25. Not sure they've been loosened to the extent that a player can move his arm towards the ball and touch it rather than move it away and not touch it. Hojbjerg seemed to panic and should have paid the penalty, excuse the pun. Still a pen for me.
