  1. What he said in response to a question was United Airlines wanted to employ 50% women and people of colour (their description). He said that because of that policy it would mean that you wouldn’t necessarily get the best people for the job as you are prioritising someone’s profile instead of their competency . This would reduce standards for pilots in this scenario. He didn’t say they wouldn’t be qualified. He said the quality would reduce, and therefore DEI profiling lowers standards and this is why DEI isn’t good, in his opinion. He is also using pilots as an example only - the principle he is arguing is intended to apply to a range of roles and different groups of people
  2. He didn’t say that - you need to watch the video to see the context also. I don’t recall a video where he has denigrated lesbians or disabled people but if you have them happy to be wrong
  3. But who said that?
  4. He didn’t say that at all. 5. He didn’t say black people couldnt fly planes for some reason. That would have been making negative assumptions or racist. He used that only as an example (he has used other groups, including white people to make the case against DEI also) that DEI could select somebody based on their skin colour. In fact he is arguing against racial profiling that he perceives DEI introduces.
  6. You would need to watch the original video to see the context. Doesn’t DEI, in some instances, racially profile people by virtue of its concept?
  7. Without getting into the rights and wrongs of DEI, I think the point was made earlier was he made racist comments based on the extraction of some text. You might disagree with what he says about DEI and others may agree. You need to remember that he is also undertaking a debate with somebody - an exchange of views. It isn’t a speech. The point he is making is in his opinion is that DEI can place importance on matters other than competence. He also in other videos used the inverse about if you applied DEI to white people and how that would not result in the best outcome. You may disagree with his views on DEIs and the outcomes of it but the point he is making is that in his opinion DEI doesnt result in the best outcomes. In my opinion that isn’t a racist view which is what was alleged
  8. Enjoy your evening
  9. Yes the words Johnny S quoted would be racist but he doesn’t say that. It’s complete misinformation. If you watch the video you will see that. The reason I showed the video is because it is him using the relevant words. So you think what he says in that video is racist?
  10. Cause he didn’t say that - watch the video and then tell me if it’s racist. This is painful
  11. Well I’ve given you the video of him saying what Jonny S alleges. Watch it and make your mind up. It’s a prime example of people making a statement to frame in a bad way when they didn’t say it.
  12. Are you joking? It’s the opposite - he doesn’t say anything negative or discrimatory about skin colour or heritage. Why do you think it is racist?
  13. Cause they are - multiple claims have been made about this bloke all of which are unfounded and have no evidence. Explain this to me, if there’s no evidence of him being racist and derogatory, why do so many people on here seem to want to find something wrong with him? Why not just say, maybe he wasn’t as bad as we thought. But no, persistently pursue the narrative
  14. There’s your research. Here’s a life lesson - don’t believe all the bollocks you read on the internet
  15. Seriously?!! You consider that to be a derogatory statement? This is the video where he talks about it and refers to him reduction. I try to stay reasonable in my wording but this whole thing just proves to me what the left have become. They will dismiss anyone they don’t agree with even without evidence. It’s been proven on this thread a number of times and now claiming this statement is derogatory.
  16. Give me evidence please. Thats a general comment. There are plenty of videos of him out there to prove your point.
  17. Again I disagree he used it in a derogatory way. Going back to the point if this is perceived use of a word is being highlighted as one of his bad attributes he sounds a lot nicer than 99% of the people on here (me included).
  18. If you have resorted to saying he used the word “liberal” a way you perceive to be derogatory, that probably says a lot about how terrible Kirk was 😆I never heard him really say anything derogatory. All there is broad allegations with no real substance (at least consistent substance).
  19. In your opinion….
  20. Out of interest why do you say that?
  21. I agree with a reasonable amount of what he said yes. I don’t agree with everything but I don’t get offended by the things I wouldn’t agree with him on. I accept that some others disagree, whilst others agree with him. The point was put that he made racist, homophobic and other awful statements which I think has been shown is mainly misinformation. The point from this is don’t just dismiss somebody cause you read a headline and disagree with them and because some idiot on the internet said it. I’ve been guilty of it before but look a bit deeper before taking a view.
  22. I think we both come at it from different view points due to our preferred political positions. I would agree with more of his views than you would, maybe compared to a liberal who I believe you would more likely support and I would disagree with. This is the world of opinions and nothing scarier than that. I think the USs current position isn’t just because of Trump. It’s both the right and the left and the lacking of willing to listen to other people’s opinions and tolerate them.
  23. Ok it’s subjective but do you agree he wasn’t some mad racist, homophobe facist that some suggested?
  24. I don’t think debates work like that. He didn’t discredit people - he explained his position. Like I said watch his videos. You can either assume what he was like based on trolls or watch the videos and be more informed (I say this in a non patronising way).
  25. Again I would suggest the evidence is the key. What’s not acceptable is people having a reasonable opinion, carefully articulating it in a non hateful way and then being called a racist or homophobe. It’s really boring. The left really hated him because he took their arguments apart
