  1. Blackpool 1 Norwich 0
  2. We don't sound as sharp today. Brum played Wednesday - a day later than us - so hopefully they'll tire towards the end quicker than us. Maybe I'm clutching at straws somewhat...
  3. Will the ref be dishing-out infraction points rather than yellow cards?
  4. Brum score in the 87th minute at home to Bristol City 1-0.
  5. Pretty poor game. The brightest thing about it is Everton's away shirt ffs!
  6. 3 wins on the trot...and we're STILL bottom three! I (for one) realise the magnitude of the job still in hand.
  7. Brum have won only 2 of their last 10 CCC games - and tonight they have a difficult home game against Bristol City. We'll also have an extra day's 'rest' over them prior to Saturday's match. Should be a good game saturday...and if we can play like we did last night with the same attacking/win-the-game attitude - we should do well. If it aint broke - don't fix it!
  8. Always interesting (I think) to read the views of other fans whenever we play them - win, lose or draw. I have read a lot of praise from the Ipswich fans following last night's superb win and - just as importantly - our superb performance. Thought you might like to read a small sample: Sorry ,but i enjoyed tonights game posted by blueoveru on: 00:04 - 04/03/2009 to see such a young side as Southampton pass the ball so well and be so full of running for each other, well it was worth going to see. As for Town it showed what the team really are ,which is a bunch of third rate players ,gathered at huge expense... Sorry ,but i enjoyed tonights game posted by sandy_itfc on: 00:06 - 04/03/2009 In a strange way I enjoyed watching Southapton play it reminded me of how we used to get the ball down and pass. Not like the others posted by Paddy39 on: 00:44 - 04/03/2009 I'm not going to criticise and moan about how bad our display was this evening but just to say how well Saints had played. We were 2nd best all over the park winning none of the 2nd phase balls. Early Bird, I don't think so and to make matters even worse the Scum win at QPR. Enough said GOODNIGHT. Well that was sh** posted by Warky1970 on: 23:13 - 03/03/2009 I didn't think it could get any worse than the Blackpool game a few weeks back but that was truly shocking. It could have been 6 or 7 Nil. Oh dear. My take on last night posted by CITB on: 08:40 - 04/03/2009 Quite frankly I was bit aghast at that. I could not believe what I was seeing. It could be argued that the first goal was scored from a free kick that should not have been awarded, but that would be churlish, Southampton were creating chances all night and deserved at least one goal. Southampton defended well and passed the ball and moved better than us. In short given the way we played, they fully deserved their win. I am trying to think where it went wrong, actually where to start is more the point... Trying to find a positive from that posted by bluefunk on: 08:31 - 04/03/2009 but failing miserably. I have been very much in favour of keeping Jim to the end of the season, but the nature of that defeat has made me reconsider. We were out-thought and out-manouvered last night by a game plan which sought out our weaknesses ( an inexperienced centre back, lack of creativity when faced with solid defences) and a team who were totally focused on the job in hand and their individual roles in delivering at least a point... well i knew Southampton posted by arsekicker on: 22:44 - 03/03/2009 had a bit of form but they blew us away ,i had a feeling if they played well and we poor we would get dicked and it was the outcome. They were a lot better than us today,They have had two different managers and to be honest both better than what we have. They have young players in there side who are hungry and play good football... Well done Southampton posted by J2BLUE on: 22:08 - 03/03/2009 Fantastic performance. They totally deserved it. It was clear who wanted it more tonight and they were better in every department... completely agree, give credit where it is due posted by Grief_ on: 22:22 - 03/03/2009 whatever our misgivings, southampton were much the better side i cant see why they had two goals ruled out, we could have been beaten 5-0. surely you know by following ipswich over the years that nothing runs smoothly we may bounce back http://www.clubfanzine.com/ipswich_town/v2.forum.categ.bythread.php?id_categ=7
  9. ...and here's his OS piece: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11446
  10. Southampton head coach Mark Wotte had special praise for the scorer of his side’s first two goals: "Jason Euell has done fantastically for us tonight. I am pleased with him. "When I started this job I gave him three times a substitute role, and every time he had a good impact - so I put him in the first XI. "His contract is expiring, so he has personal reasons to play well. He feels confident, like most of the players, and he has done brilliantly. "It was, for me, very important that everyone recognised the important situation we are in. "We have five games in 12 or 13 days. We have to be mentally very strong and also physically. "Two home games don't make us survive in the Championship - neither does this victory. We are still in trouble. We have to be serious - because it's a serious situation." Wotte felt his side's two disallowed goals should have counted: "We scored five goals tonight. I think the referee saw something that I did not see." http://www.clubfanzine.com/ipswich_town/v2.showNews.php?id=18385
  11. Jeez. Three wins in a row & we're STILL bottom three! Shows how important it is to find the winning habit right now. Each point seems vital at the mo. Just look at Charlton & their continuing dire form to see how easy it is to be cut well adrift at the foot of the table. A lot of the teams down there with us are picking up points lately - which is bloody annoying - but I guess all we can do is win our own games. Can't ask for more than that. Long may Wotte's run continue. He's doing something right - and for the first time in ages - it feels good to actually be a Saints fan!
  12. Fantastic win! Cardiff unbeaten in 13 CCC games before today - so it shows the magnitude of our victory. Sets us up nicely for 2 difficult away trips this week to Ipswich & Brum. Hopefully we can pick up something at both. Really really chuffed today though. Great win - and a second joyous weekend for us all in a row! Weheeey!
  13. All hands to the pump...
  14. 4 Mins added on FFS!?!?!?
  15. We're sitting too deep. Attack ffs!
  16. 4 mins and counting. A goal now for Saints would lift the roof off SMS!
  17. 6 minutes left. FFS. My heart is almost bursting out of my chest!!! COYR.
  18. Well done Cov...
  19. 11 very nervy minutes left. COYR
  20. Squeaky bum time. Clean undies are close at hand...
  21. ANOTHER Cardiff corner - their 9th
  22. Good move from Wotte - Spiderman for AL.
  23. 20 mins left. Very nervous. Saints can't hold on as we all know - so we need that 2nd goal...and very soon. COYR
  24. Yeah yeah - I know. Okay - Apart from Donny AND Watford - what have the Romans ever done for us?
