  1. They have a few injuries and horrific away from home....0-1 then lol
  2. Without hindesight, yes it is better now. This squad should be serious contenders for top 2. If you asked anyone at the start of that promotion season, no way. Obviously, we had some serious players and leaders in that team
  3. LOL. he rugby tackled him.
  4. https://www.themag.co.uk/2023/10/liverpool-have-been-among-the-biggest-beneficiaries-of-dubious-decisions-what-goes-around-comes-around-newcastle-united-var-tottenham-2-liverpool-1/
  5. The Bednarek challenge was a penalty all day long
  6. He'd probably get in ahead of Adam Armstrong though
  7. Good but scrappy game. Got to see a different side to the players (real grit at the end). However, not winning that game would have been a poor result, they have a very large injury list, and we were hanging on in the end with a good defensive wall. The defence was good, can't see a reason at all to change that on Sat. Downes was very good, Stu and Smallbone were tidy. Charlie was OK. Sully was excellent going forward, woeful in defence - which against a full strength stoke/better team, could easily cripple us. Arma was busy and suits a wide forward position. This is a set up that suits us more. More pragmiatism, but we still clearly have better players than most. I think having Che or Stewart for Alcaraz would be better...as we offered nothing as a goal threat in the 1st half, better in the 2nd. Mara has to score that chance BTW.
  8. how does he have a stinking attitude? very strange comment As for starting line up, I am not sure having alcaraz in the hole really works. Until the goal last night, we offered zero goal threat, but scored (again) on our first shot on target. This against a team with monumental injuries...so hardly their best 11
  9. which games?
  10. As there should have been, they have a massive injury list
  11. It was a good defensive display, but they also have a horrific injury problem at the mo.
  12. Downes was good!!??
  13. Really? Their first shot on target was in the 96th min
  14. Not pretty, but a win and we should have got another with 2 great chances Lets be straight, the ref was favourable to us....Stoke should have had a penalty. Lets make it 3 in a row on Sat...
  15. He has to score that. very poor miss
  16. We would have expected that for a penalty
  17. Thought the game lacks quality. Certainly from us in the final 3rd. Just offering nothing up front. Your typical championship match, but guess will always be on a Tue night in Stoke
  18. You don't save those
  19. Bit of a daft comment
  20. Stoke have big injury problems... https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-southampton-team-news-8796533 I wonder if they will draft in a striker who has not scored for a lifetime.....you know what that means
  21. This incident will go down in Scouse Folklore. Shirts will be worn during warmups, songs sung, Tories blamed....this is everything they revel in Until such time they benefit from a significant referring cock up
  22. The idea that football fans and pundits simply accept decisions and move on is hilarious. Why do you think we have VAR in the first place?
  23. Cheating what and for what gain? was Kevin friend cheating the numerous times he gave Liverpool ridiculous decisions?
  24. Martin presser.... We will analyse game from Sat. Good stuff to be seen, and many things to improve we will go through parts on the training pitch to improve and go through the threats stoke will pose everyone is in good spirits, and hopefully take some of the weight of their shoulders we have to build on the win saturday and take it through the week the energy on saturday was a big improvement, with/without the ball the instructions the players have learned started to show on sat it was nice to see on Sat, it takes time but you could see it saturday Proud of the team on how they have stuck together, they have been really close in the the last couple of weeks Now it is a big step up and they have to improve all the time We have to be realistic and accept the next 2 games will require a bit of rotation. We will do our best to help the player recover we have brilliant facilities here for the players, but have to be aware of fitness we have to build on sat Sully has been really great since I have been here. He knows what we expect from him I have been impressed by him, he is a very intelligent player and none of expected to be here now I genuinely believe he can play at the very top if he realises his potential. We must get that from him we have to keep him fit. He added loads of value both forwards and in defence He is a really confident lad, but not really played many games, He has had a few injury problems he has no issues in confidence or ability, but now up to us to get the best out of him he has an incredible opportunity as our style is designed for players like him I know Alex Neill very well, I was his skipper, he is 'gaffer' to me His will to win is excellent, he is very detailed. they will have huge belief from Sat as they won after a difficult period, like us it will be very different to Sat. Will Smallbone played from them last year, so maybe tap into what he knows never played there on a tuesday night (in stoke) Sat for us was not enough, we have to keep building we must go into the international break feeling good. we had a tough month The full week on the training pitch last week really helped No player finds it easy on the bench. James Bree has trained very well, he is a good character, and is a really nice guy he works hard. He had a really tough period here and playing in a system that is very new to him compared to his previous club he is a resilient character. Stuck at it. He will get plenty more mins with us, I am very pleased with him We believe in him as a player and he is one of many who has started to come out of their shell over the last couple of weeks. Baz has been immense. He has been getting better with the ball. Some of his passing has been incredible. He is very level headed and only now are we starting to see the personality of him, He will get better and better
  25. I find it quite funny that there is plenty of chatter on the phone-ins, with pundits etc, that before VAR there would not have been this amount of debate with a blatantly incorrect decision. More like it would have drawn anger and everyone would move on. Like fuck would they. That is precisely why we have VAR now
