  1. I believe Western Europe has taken the US for granted on this point
  2. The USA are NATO, everyone else are just the supporting act at best, which is through decades of government choices.
  3. Anyone else looking forward to another 3 at the back masterclass?
  4. I know what you mean
  5. So what?
  6. The UK gained the islands from France over 200 years ago. the BIOT administration was formed in 1965
  7. Because UK, and Western Europe, are oh so pious and virtuous on the world stage.
  8. Do the people of the Chagos not get a say?
  9. The question he sees it, is Europe willing to throw NATO under the bus. it is clear that Trump sees this as cashing some chips in for the cost of decades defending Europe, and following through with what other presidents wanted. we have allowed this to happen, de industrialised, made Russia the bogeyman (again) and turned our backs on their cheap fuel, all whilst closing down the means of cheap energy we all had. At the same time, allowing Europe to decline into some 3rd world shit hole in many places. Still, we are all ever so politically correct though
  10. Europe will bend the collective knee and reach an agreement about Greenland
  11. Great result regardless, yes?
  12. I am not having it. Players like Fellows and Scienza are cooking playing Right Wing Back and Inside Left... no other way
  13. Crystal Palace have his name written all over it, assuming they don't completely implode and get relegated
  14. The Martin Sanders post match thingy. One of those interviewed made a decent point (regarding the direction Sports Republic have taken us). Until Nathan Jones, our managers' had top 5 European league experience. Some worked, some didn't but they at least (even with Pellegrino) had something on their CVs working at a top league.
  15. He has played for 2 teams this season...you can't for 3, right?
  16. For years I have had the urge to invest/build one of these (to a pretty good spec). Has anyone else done this recently, or in the past? I know it costs a fair bit, but reckon I could build something that is future-proof for the next 5+ years, without getting ridiculous with the costs (which I know is subjective)
  17. Ralph had run out of legs. The squad was completely different to now, and it was something that he kept, what had become of the squad, up in the premier league. Rusk - Caretaker and not a premier league (or championship) manager Selles - joke Still - no real record, or experience, to manage an ex-premier league side about to have a massive turn over of players. He will have a good career, just completely the wrong time for us Tonda - joke Juric - he can't come in with his style at that time and how the team were used to playing. Just can't. Had he joined pre-season and stayed true to himself with the board, maybe he would have done well at Saints. The main problem are clearly the owners/Dragan. They/he are fucking useless and have created an environment where the completely obvious wrong decisions are constantly made.
  18. Listening to it now. Tonda never came out for his post-match presser until about 6pm, with everyone wondering why (had he been sacked was the chat) Basically saying Tonda came into football as an analyst, but has only stats to fallback on as he has absolutely no experience to use as a manager. He is doing his work experience at a club like saints which is remarkable. Jo saying he is showing his weakness as he just cannot manage a game. Fine when it works from the off, but now clubs have seen his team set up, Tonda clearly has no way to manage changes in-game, or start with something different. More leadership has to come from the pitch. The senior players should have grabbed the flow of the game when Stewart scored and do what needed to be done and get the ball up to him quickly. They do not see Tonda changing and he is happy with the squad (and academy), which may be a signal of incomings going forward. They believe his is just not a strong manager at all. Very much a club yes-man, but he will get himself sacked.
  19. Proper championship managers, who have a good track record of getting the most out of the majority of players . it has to be next season. Not Tonda, Wilfred Nancy or some other dickhead with no experience of high level football/championship football
  20. we are the poster-club of buy cheap, buy twice
  21. And spend time studying xG stats
  22. He is progressing. Rated 6.3 on FotMob yesterday Win/Win
  23. Branfoot and Wotte days were very different. Branfoot, as someone said, we have a few players desperate to do well, but were led by completely the wrong person. And we had MLT. Wotte, we had no money and a bunch of kids. hiding to nothing
  24. Then he is now in for a rough ride. Rightly so.
  25. Sums it up. Desperate to appoint Tonda from the start. We all pre-scripted the narrative - keep quiet, puff pieces online, club legend in Romeu saying nice things, players telling us it was all very clear etc. It was blindingly obvious
