Poor coaching or players not up to scratch ?
AlexLaw76 replied to Andrew Watson's topic in The Saints
Some of our fans live in fantasy land, expecting this season to be preparation for the title charge in the next few years. Every season we stay down, the worse it will get. I joking used to say SR were going to turn us into Stoke. Right now, that would be an achievement. Half the team were good enough to get promoted last time, some of the players we brought in are top top championship players, and others are clearly good enough for the top in this league (and then there is Downs). -
In another way, we probably could have got Carlton Morris, Kieffer Moore and Ollie McBurnie for no more than we paid for Downs... One of them alone would have scored more goals than Downs this season at Saints, and all would have offered plenty for a promotion chasing teams at different points of the season.

Saints or Rangers?
-
We could have bought 4 Kieffer Moores for the cost of this lad

Re Downs On a positive note about it all.. he is still young enough to have a full career in something not football -
Palace lost that game with ridiculous missed chances
-
the exact same thing happened at Sheffield United when Fellows was taken off. Many assumed he must have been injured or got a whack, as it was just weird.
-
Helped massively by bringing in a half decent, not spectacular, manager from within this league .

Given what has happened under SR, we clearly have a very compliant and placid fan base. Remarkable really

I thought we were supposed to be the fittest side in the league (or one of). We look no different to others, to be fair. Still is just terrible at Saints -
What does that mean? Still has had all pre season, massive budget, top Championship players brought in, to complement some very good championship players we already had. The mess...little to do with Edwards, Quarshie, Wellington, Jelert, Roeslov, Charles, Jander, Scienza, Azaz, Fellows, Downs (I know).... Wood and Stewart barely played last year, Arma went out on loan (but is a proven top scorer in this league).......

The negotiations start now, right?

sit back, pass around the defensive 3rd, get it wide (with our best winger at Wing Back, currently), lump it into the box, whilst leaving the middle of the park wide open. it has been like this almost every game Just shit. It was obvious against Wrexham that for Will Still to succeed we needed someone like Keiffer Moore to be at Saints and fit for 46 league games. Will Still is no where near ready for this job. He might be a very good coach/manager one day, but not yet.

Aren’t QPR (6th in the league) also managed by a newbie from Ligue 1?

You mean, this is not the greatest era in our history? -
We signed plenty of players good enough to be top end of the league right now
-
What dreadful recruitment?

Manager for me -
I’m sure Alfie House will continue with his sneering comments at those questioning the manager.
-
Keeping him in place is pointless and nothing other than “doing the right thing” it has been obvious nearly all season he is way short of being up to it. This is a job 5 years too early for him.
-
Waaay out of his depth. but that has been obvious for a while now
