  1. It looks awesome! Would love to do it but think my knees might give out completely after about 3,000ft of climbing - not good with 10,000 left!
  2. I couldn't read it - I have an ad-blocker so it wants me to register! No chance of that!
  3. 30 mile climb! Mental! I saw someone moaning on Strava about wet and cold feet Mrs WSS bought me a pair of these [ https://www.endurasport.com/product/road-overshoe/ ] for Xmas to replace the crap ones I had, they work very well especially combined with the sealskinz socks she got me [ https://www.sealskinz.com/socks/activity-sock-black.htm ]. Very dry and warm feet even when the temp was around 2-3 degrees
  4. Isn't a better question "what have THEY got"? £275m and they've still won bugger all!
  5. Firstly, Chapeau to Dave this year, your figures have improved immensely since Feb and it must have been bloody hard work to get the fitness back!!! Lows for me this year were breaking my arm on 2nd January having hit some black ice! Also suffering with incredibly sore knees for the majority of the year. One MRI scan later and I'm finally booked in for physio in the new year as they think it might be a hamstring issue causing the knee pain - odd how the human body works! I've also adjusted my seat up about 1cm so now put more strain through the muscles above the knee and reducing the knee pain... Highs for me were breaking a lot of my PBs in the area and getting two top tens, as well as getting a lot more climbing under my belt! Also joining the gym and getting a lot of core strength and a little bit of toning on my upper body! Looking forward to just having fun on the bike in 2018 - power meter [4iii] turning up tomorrow so will give me some more focus in my training and hopefully help me climb better! Also looking to plan a weekend with the folks in Lee-on-Solent where I can shoot off and ride round the Isle of Wight...
  6. He is a skate, right? Almost every post recently has mentioned 'pony', just like the skates on a wind up
  7. Never a truer word was spoken!
  8. I'm confused! Was it the map graphic and the daily Express who make the point or GM because your posts make it 'absolutely explicit' that it was both of them It's hard to put up a coherent argument against your mental posts whilst you are busy arguing with yourself! Seems to me you are sitting there quietly AND making a fool of yourself
  9. Is that not a contradiction? You also mention that geography matters but go on to say that Germany exports 'sh1t loads' to India! Germany to India = 6748km. UK to America = 6826km so not entirely what your point is?
  10. Not sure how / why this is a surprise to you! There are at least 30 separate parties with their podgy fingers in the pie. There is no way that an agreement between all the parties will ever be reached. The process will run its course with both sides claiming a victory at various points but the UK will end up leaving the EU with no agreement in place and under WTO rules. It's as inevitable as Monday following Sunday.
  11. Sure! But what about the new badge ideas?
  12. Did the OP previously run "Nippy Buses" ??? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-41801760
  13. Have a nice weekend cycling all - nothing for me this weekend as I had a cyst removed from my head on Wednesday and have five stitches that need to be kept dry Having looked at the weather forecast for the weekend it may be a blessing in disguise with winds of 25-30mph gusting to 45-50mph! That's easily a 2-3 cog wind!
  14. You walked right in to his trap! He clearly said "could you provide a link to someone with some influence on all this actually saying "we will accept any deal"?" The next come back from the Mental one will be to point out that Labour have no influence 'on all this' so that argument is null and void - or something along those lines! The fact that the only people who have any influence 'in all this' have a Ministerial duty to ensure that Brexit goes ahead and in doing so get the best possible deal for Britain will be immaterial in his argument. It really is pointless trying to have a sensible debate with the lunatic that should be under lock and key in the asylum!
  15. Council Leader Donna Jones said "like all cities, it can be congested so we want to speed up getting in and out of the city" Can they just put an extra three lanes on the "out" bit? I haven't been there for a fair few years now but isn't the first thing you see on the way in the rusting hulk of an old ship, closely followed by the disgusting 1950's[???] flats? More "New Delhi" than "New York"!
  16. Little....black....sodding....flies!! Anyone else suffering with these little beasties or is there just a plague of them in my area? I'm assuming their abundance is down to the amount of cow s_hite all over the roads at the moment and the warmer weather. Trouble is, they get absolutely everywhere! About twenty odd in my helmet today - probably not so bad if you've got hair but if your head is as bald as a choirboys ball bag like mine is, then the pesky little flies can be felt everytime they get in! Not only that but when I took my shirt off there were another 30 odd that had got in there, not to mention those stuck to my legs! So, is everyone suffering with these or are they just a problem in the South West?
  17. Yep, really scary! A chart that is using data from 2011 that gives a warning about its calculations being 'back of the envelope' and 'accounting for partial effects' which has no consideration for 'general equilibrium' or 'welfare implications' and doesn't 'account for possible re-direction of exports to non-EU countries'. Pretty much sounds like everything you make up and post as 'FACT'. Probably about as useful as a chart that has figures 'plucked from thin air'. Terrifying! Mental!
  18. This would NEVER have happened when Boj was in charge
  19. Hmmmmm. Absolutely none of which was taken into consideration when they put together the league table for annoying fans based on innernetz use / presence / whingeing. Although the other teams must have some pretty serious online moaners if we could only muster up 20th position Perhaps we don't whine enough in public?
  20. To be fair, they've always had the bestestmost championship standard floodlights.
  21. Is that because, as Mental has already said, "the EU is not the least bit interested in agreeing a bespoke deal"? Would make it kind of hard to agree a bespoke deal if the other party in the negotiations have already taken their ball home and locked it away in the garage! Still, I'm sure there's some way to blame May's government for this....
  22. Seriously? That's your come back? Did you read the last line of my post - I'm guessing not, so here it is.... I guess it's a question of tenses but it certainly appears that you are blaming May's inept government 'right now' for something that is not even possible to negotiate on until the end of the year.... Seems pretty clear that I did read the end of your post, well the first time anyway! The last post I quoted from seemed to be more inane ramblings!! You seem to be posting what you 'hope' is happening and what you 'hope' will one day happen and passing it off as what is 'actually' happening! Mental!
  23. How about this one? Not convinced it's cogent eloquence though! Seems to me that what you are saying is that the EU is not interested in agreeing - and consequently discussing - any sort of bespoke transition deal, which you know to be categorically the truth. Yet, on the other hand, you are claiming that May's 'reckless regime' has failed to discuss any detail with the EU! Does it not stand to reason that if you know, categorically, that the EU is not interested in agreeing a transition deal, then, unless you are keeping this information very firmly under your [tin foil] hat, then the entire government are also aware of this! Would it not also stand to reason that if the entire government are aware that the EU is not interested in discussing the deal then it is pretty pointless trying to discuss it with them! Certainly seems strange that you are blaming May's 'reckless' regime for not reaching a deal on an issue which you state is not going to be discussed by the EU until the end of the year. Mental!
  24. So, with the tour and now the vuelta under his belt, will Froome finally get the recognition he deserves, particularly from the British public?
