Besides, didn't the accounts have a statement in them regarding 'needing' more investment to remain a going concern? It didn't The pub had every single light on twinkling brightly - even the car park ones. How very twee. But seriously, what was the point of the last 150 years of advancement if we're going to go back to lighting our way with candles? I imagine the local councils would happily light our streets again with candles, but I suspect the Elf and Safety would interfere, as it would be far too dangerous to light them!

Aldi don't employ 'cashiers'. They employ staff! They are expected to do all of the jobs in the store - including putting deliveries on shelves, cleaning [no overnight cleaners for these guys], and all the other jobs that need to be done. You really should go visit one of these stores - there will be one close to any large-ish housing area - and it will open your eyes. Who knows, you may even get to the till eventually
