But that was his opinion. He doesn't rate Stephens, you obviously do. And that's your right to have an opinion as much as his. You need a thicker skin on here sometimes to post. It's just playground shit, being called a bed wetting clown is hardly earth shattering.
-
Probably a draw and a Leeds defeat for me. A four way race becoming a three way race is far better. Still be great to catch Leicester, but the ultimate target is promotion.
-
Yes we all support the same team, but holy fuck we are all allowed to have different opinions on players. I don't hate Stephens. He's a good pro and back up to the first 11. What I have a problem with is this ridiculous idea that Martin wants to get him on the pitch. There is absolutely no need to change your centre back pairing when you are 3-1 up in a match, barring an injury.
-
So fuckin what if he is captain? He shouldn't be brought on for arguably the best centre half in the Championship after 60 odd minutes. The bullshit about the yellow card is just that. I cannot remember anyone else pulling off subs like this other than Martin. Fair enough you could argue the case if it was a central midfielder, but bringing off a centre half for any other reason other than injury or tactical is completely unnecessary. We've done brilliantly over the last few months, and Martin deserves all the plaudits, but this just wasn't needed.
-
Fair enough
-
Martin admitted that the subs didn't have any impact in the last 20 minutes or so. Made us a lot weaker mo question. Can't even recall Mara getting sa meaningful touch.
-
Who probably hasn't got a fuckin clue.
-
Absolutely. Its bollocks to suggest that's why THB was hooked. Only reason was to get Stephens on the pitch.
-
Not buying that at all. It was bordering on arrogance. Using your logic, if Baz gets booked for time wasting on the 75th minute, does he get pulled off to stop him getting a second yellow? It was a needless change to make against Plymouth and it was needless today.
-
Tatical foul. Totally different.
-
He was never going to get a red, far too composed a player. Martin must the only manager who takes off a centre half with 30 minutes to go becaus he's on a yellow. Its utter bollocks. There is no need for it.
-
It doesn't. Not one bit
-
And that's why you don't sub your centre halves
-
Underneath it is more interesting, the legend that is Paul Wotton cutting his managerial teeth in Cornwall.
-
Isn't Jamal Lowe an ex member of the blue few?
-
Corners can be hit and miss also.
-
Who according to Prutton isn't even the best right back in the Championship.
-
Agree with this. I think in the past, in the Premier, we have under used the loan market. I get the notion that we are giving game time to other clubs players, but as we've seen this season, getting the right ones in can make wonders.
-
Be comedy gold if they fuck it up again this season. Their league is absolutely piss poor this year.
-
Think that's a bit harsh. Plenty of players I remember down the years who've not got close to 200 odd gamesn for us.

This thread just gets weirder and weirder by the day. Can't wait for the Summer 24 COT thread.

Saints 4-0 Sheffield Wednesday - Saturday 3pm

Majority of the crowd around us in the Itchen were leaving on the 85th minute. Four nil up at home and still people leave before the end of the game. Could understand if the score was reversed, but why not say and celebrate at the final whistle? -
I wouldn't be too disappointed to see Aribo leave to be honest. He has improved of late, but still think he's one we could move on without missing.
-
I don't care if we catch Leicester or not. Promotion was, and remains the goal for this season. Finishing second still achieves that goal.

Coventry was a decent point to be fair though. As proved by them turning over Leicester today, even if they had a man advantage
