  2. Hang on. How did you get credibility, when the rest of us didn't? 🙂 Some posts bind fans from across the country. Regardless of being opponents, simple things that we can all relate to. So, if you find one, let me know. 🙂
  3. I thought that we'd have some problems against some Championship team that would outmuscle us, in the midfield, on set pieces. Caveat of not seeing today, but the players have developed, including getting some challenges in. Smallbone has got better here, as has Mara. is good there and there's THB and Che. When we had that horrible September, Mowbray's Sunderland schooled Martin. Exploit the gaps at fullback, put pressure on us trying to pass it through midfield, catch us on counter attacks etc. I still see these as our weak points. But Martin seems okay with accepting some of those risks, if we can control the posession and can still create ourselves. Helps to have a KWP, but the team are fit enough from playing our system, that we can tire out those stronger teams now. Just some passing thoughts...
  4. Well done lads. Overcoming a bit of adversity. Martin's side work hard all game. One of the things that's made a real difference.
  5. Trying to work out how many points it's going to take to get out of this league, this season.
  6. Ah Sunday morning. Breakfast on, papers on the table... Southampton game still in added time...
  7. Crumbs! We're the plucky, impoverished waifs of the league, pushing for the stars with barely a couple of Chelsea transfer windows to rub together. 🙂
  8. Uh oh. Whelk's found out that AFCON is entirely scripted and filmed out of sequence. Security team to Whelk's, and get me a new continuity person! 🙂
  9. While giving at least one look to the camera, ruining that "we've-just-happened-to-catch-a-genius-coach-at-work" plan behind his self-promotion. The players looked about as thrilled as ours did.
  10. Oh, lovely...
  11. Clear, gleaming threads of news to clear, gleaming floors.
  12. Yes, we got really lucky that Yoann Folly has joined us out of retirement. It's a midfield pairing to strike fear into Liverpool, and both must be on the team sheet.
  13. ... rapidly edits SaintsWeb "Mooning Badger Shocks Posters" headline...
  14. Good to see that he has built a supportive environment, but that everyone knows that their development will need some harder lessons. Also that Martin backs up what he's saying with footage. No half time rant over nothing. It will remind everyone what's expected coming into the side. A side that had youth looking to impress, but still with lots to learn and others, like Mara, not initially playing in the role they'd like. Challenges there for the team, which they've pulled together and got past.
  15. It's a little sad that one of the players who did so well tonight, will have to make way. But Brooks just has that extra level of quality that could be key against Liverpool.
  16. Contentious. Has this been peer reviewed? 🙂
  17. As good as we were tonight, with the run in we have, he's sure to start against Liverpool.
  18. They unpacked their offensive unit to secure an overtime victory.
  19. Not enough room on the squad with newcomers Addams and Dibbles in there. 🙂
  20. Agree. Like the rest of the squad, Mara's being asked to fill a number of roles. He's clearly stronger centrally, and with a certain type of support, than he is out wide. Hopefully he'll develop his all round game, but also that the coaches realise what they get by playing to his strengths when needed.
  21. Yes! It sounded as though they got a clear message at half time, and went on to dominate the game completely. Martin's control of games, with senior players supporting sounded as though it left Watford chasing shadows. A lot of youth in there, with all of them looking to play their part in the run in.
