Ok but "entitled" clearly isn't the word for it is it? The fans you cite as whingers are being asked to renew season tickets at a price which is the sixth highest in the league whilst watching a squad that scraped 17th being stripped of its remaining talent. On that logic perhaps we are "entitled" to expect something better than what is being provided for the money that's being asked? Every set of football fans are entitled using the logic employed on here so stop making out as though the posts on here are unique to Saints, they aren't. If we were watching West Ham struggling to get players over the line, having finished 17th and whilst flogging Arnautovic we'd be ****ing ourselves...

This "entitled fans" crap really is tiresome. It's not entitled to want your team to do well and to sign players who might help achieve that (don't think Gibson fits that to be honest). If we miss out it demonstrates a lack of pulling power but there's no argument that Everton are a better outfit than we are at the moment (yet in the past we were able to sign players above our station as Wolves are for example) although it can't be good for club morale if we do miss out on our first two transfer targets.
  3. Fair enough but don't think I ever said I was the only one who had noticed, just that a significant number on here appear to be resigned to us not being able to hold onto our players. Try replying without reading things into posts that aren't there.
  4. Putting the needless personal jibe to one side (isn't this a forum where people can post what they think about Saints?!) would genuinely be interested to hear why you disagree with what I've said. Which of those is "made up"? It's well known that Gao used debt to purchase the club and, in all likelihood, any money received by the club and not reinvested will be used to service the loan. Not really a controversial statement. I wonder how long it took Cov City's fans to realise they were being taken for a ride by SISU...
  5. I don't "get off" on knocking the club (whatever that's supposed to mean) but what you are saying plainly isn't true is it? You say that if we want MT to stay he will as he's under contract but how do you then explain Tadic going when we are woefully short of creative players? On your logic we'd force Tadic to stay as he's under contract when clearly that isn't happening. As for knocking the club, you might be happy with what's going on but right now there is very little positive noise out of Saints. For me, the fans willingness to place blind faith in Les and the gang when it comes to transfers is what has killed us.
  6. It isn't though is it? If Chelsea wanted to keep Romeu then fine but they didn't. We supposedly want to keep Targett so if we can't that's a damning inditement of our attractiveness as a club. But then again, our fans appear to have accepted that we can't keep hold of any member of our squad whilst the cash coming in pays down Gao's debt. Pathetic really.
  7. VVD aside, if we can't keep hold of Matt Targett following a bid from a newly promoted club we may as well pack up and go home.

Reminds me of an English Wesley Hoedt. Not what we need by a long shot.
  9. Exactly, yet the ridiculousness of our ticket pricing remains. Les, Ross and Gao taking us for utter mugs.
  10. Jack Wilshere a) is hardly Arsenal'a main man (as JWP would be if we are comparing him to Tadic) and b) doesn't even play in the same position.
  11. Just typical to wait until the renewal deadline to sell a key player. Disingenuous.
  12. We had a poor season for sure but anyone who is comfortable with JWP as our main chance creator (as I bet the club will be) is absolutely out of their mind.
  13. Yes, it really is. The last two seasons have been a disgrace and have led to us ceding our position as the primary choice for good young players. Having had such a dreadful season last year it's an insult to fans to be weakening the squad even further whilst maintaining a ludicrously high ticket price. The fans deserved a bit of good news after last year but we've kicked off on typical Les/Ross dithering fashion.
  14. Because Les is in charge of player recruitment. He failed us in January and he's failing us now with the Maddison saga and letting go of our best (only) consistent attacker.
  15. Don't worry lads Les and Ross will have it under control, just like they did when they overpaid for Carrillo. God, these wasters really are ruining our club. Going to be another long season. Wasn't as if Hughes turned us into Man City was it? We beat a poor Bournemouth at home, scrapped a win against an awful Swansea but were pretty bloody terrible otherwise and still they don't reduce the ticket price. Loyal fans taken for utter mugs really.
  16. Precisely. Doesn't bode well for a summer where we need to act quickly to rectify problems and have a compressed time frame to do it in (WC). Given that article in the Telegraph about how, despite our position, our transfer model was still producing good results (laughable given that it cited the awful Hoedt as a success) I'd say we've learned sweet FA. If we can't sign up an unemployed manager, with a slightly damaged reputation and who as keen to join us as we are supposedly to appoint him then it doesn't bode particularly well.

    Hughsey

Why on earth would you think that?!
  18. I think it'll be similar to the Brighton home game, we'll start ok (but be very slow in possession) and have loads of the ball then we'll concede to their first attack (probably because Hoedt has messed up again) and we'll end up drawing with an Austin tap in.
  19. The 2004/5 team was significantly better than our current side IMO.
  20. Yoshida is miles better than Hoedt. If anything it should be him and Jan IMO. Hoedt has been a bit of a disaster.
  21. Klopp’s probably told him not to bother and not get injured because Liverpool will “need” him more next season.
  22. You and 32,000 others. What an inspiring “captain”...
  23. Agreed. At least some of those players tried. These pansies couldn’t give a flying f*ck.
  24. Absolutely pathetic. Please erase this horrible Saints team from my memory. Just dross.
  25. It was obvious from the Spurs away game on Boxing Day that he thought he was too good for us and he’s been a disgrace since then. Two woeful performances against Newcastle and WHU which have really hurt us and he gets a recall in a glamour semi final. Poor decision really, just rewards chronic underperformance and lack of effort. An absolute crime that JWP hasn’t been rewarded for being one of our best players this year with a start whilst Lemina gets in. Get rid ASAP, preferably to someone less “glamorous” than Liverpool.
