  1. I presume you are referring to the two are worse than us according to the league table? Some consolation...
  2. No one forces him to make such ill advised comments at a time when we are absolutely dreadful. It’s hard for fans to sympathise with millionaires who are stressing out about relegation (and I’m not sure I buy that any of our current lot actually care about Saints as they know they’ll get a move if we go down) when the average fan is shelling out a significant proportion of their income to watch a load of lazy, uninspiring performances. If the fans genuinely bought into the fact the players cared then they’d be sympathetic but that second half performance against Liverpool was an embarrassment. The players were hardly putting their bodies on the line for the cause were they? I for one don’t have much sympathy for the “stress” our current squad is under and, as for Pellegrino, it would be better for him to say nothing at all than to say something that will inflame the fan base at a sensitive time. He does, after all, have control over his own mouth.

    Pellegrino OUT

They would if they knew who to ask. Les nowhere to be seen and can you imagine the kind of BS answer they’d get from Ralph. The fact we’ve had no kind of communication from the club given our current situation and after the utter farce of a window is a complete disgrace. Club taking the fans for fools really.
  4. WBA putting up much more of a fight than our disgrace of a performance on Sunday. We really are the worst team in the league at the moment - on this performance I cannot fathom how we beat WBA.
  5. Must be the only team in the league trying to defend a 2-0 defeat. Awful.

Was one of my favourite players from that Championship year. He was quality at that level and I was relatively confident he’d be fine in the PL. All those saying they knew he was sh*t in the Championship are revisionists that clearly didn’t post on here when we went up. Don’t remember anyone calling for him to be replaced in the summer before the Prem. He wasn’t good enough in the end, so what? Plenty aren’t and he was still very good for us.
  7. Tadic must play on the left if he starts. Agree that Carrillo should and probably will start. Thought JWP was excellent against Brighton so would have him on the right but our attack would be extremely slow.
  8. Was shocked at how deep Carrillo (who I thought looked decent) had to come to get the ball. The others: Gabbi: one paced, bereft of confidence Long: awful, stealing a living as a Premier League striker Boufal: his decision making is pretty terrible, to slow to release possession or shoot after taking it past someone. We just don’t have anyone who breaks from midfield, Davis is much too slow and looks like he’s had it now. Hoj tried but his final ball is not there. Wouldn’t have subbed Tadic at half time, he was far from the worst. Thought JWP was very good, at least he looks up for it.
  9. I said exactly the same in the stands, total madness.
  10. Needs to go, he won’t. Death by a thousand cuts - we are this years Middlesbrough.
  11. Death by a thousand cuts.
  12. He bottles everything. Absolute coward. Might be reaching Branfoot levels of hatred for me.
  13. Definitely. Words cannot describe how much I hate Pellegrino and his tactics.
  14. He lost the plot a while ago, unfortunately it’s almost too late to get rid. Playing for the draw to keep his job I reckon. Total muppet.
  15. God what a shocker line up. No goals in that team.

The whole “we will just get him in the summer” rhetoric is arguably the most worrying of the day. We are 19th in the table!! If things stay the way they are we will go down and we won’t be signing £30m wingers. Just shows the blindness to the predicament we are in.

It’ll cost us a hell of a lot more if we get relegated.

Exactly, money talks ultimately - it’s just typically Saints spin to deflect from the fact that we’ve cocked up another January window.

This is why you can blame SFC if nobody else comes in - if they knew that the deal was contingent on Spartak finding a replacement then they should have been pursuing the back up targets. At a time when you're second bottom, you can't rely on things out of your control happening (another club signing a player) especially when they don't appear particularly keen on selling. As usual, we've faffed and faffed and have now whipped out the usual "quiet day at SFC, did all we could, difficult time to do business etc. etc.". It just doesn't stack up when you see teams like WBA securing targets like Daniel Sturridge. My prediction is that we won't sign anyone and we'll then subsequently hear about a desperate attempt to take a thoroughly average player on loan but couldn't get it done in time. You'd have thought they'd have learnt from last season's CB catastrophe but clearly not and it sounds like an almost identical situation here. Unfortunately, this year it won't cost us the League Cup, it'll cost us our Premier League status.
  20. 1-2/10 at best at the moment. Utterly pathetic.

Because we shouldn’t have invested so much time in a deal, leaving it to the last day and leaving ourselves without anyone. We are 19th in the table for goodness sake. We needed new blood to lift the fans and the team, especially given that we did the Virgil deal early on the premise of getting players in. Despite all this, the only deal we seem to have been able to do is to massively over pay for a Monaco reserve with a patchy goal record that is mates with our useless manager. Given our precarious position this window has been an utter disaster.
  22. If we lose the next two we might as well not bother as he will have well and truly screwed us by then.
  23. They’ve already got that Diabate guy.

I completely agree but I’ve resigned myself to Pellegrino being here until the situation is utterly desperate (ie if we lose the next two but even then I’m not convinced he’ll get the sack). In the absence of a managerial change we needed an active window to try and inject something and at the moment, despite exciting names being leaked to appease a disgruntled fan base, we’ve not delivered save for a player that the fans are rightly sceptical of given he’s a Pellegrino signing. If we get Promes it’ll have been a decent window and we will have invested in a big way given our recent history but it’s a big if. Even then, we are probably still a CB short.

If Carrillo is our only incoming then it’s hard to argue we’ve had anything other than a shocking window. When you look at our direct relegation rivals securing quality players like Sturridge (even on a short term basis) then it doesn’t look good for us at all. Fingers crossed we can get Promes but doesn’t sound too likely and doesn’t sound like we’ve got a back up plan at this point.
