  1. If, and I stress if, we lose JWP to Fulham and Tino to Brighton in the same window then it just emphasises how much of a SR-induced fuck up last season was.
  2. Gyokeres would be my primary target if he was in any way obtainable but suspect the price is too high for us and that he will go to a bigger club. We should have gone for him in the summer/instead of panicking and buying Tall Paul. Failing that would like to see any of Manning, Grimes, Piroe from Swansea and Ronnie Edwards and Jack Taylor from Peterborough.

    Ruben Selles

Completely perplexed as to why any club with winning ambitions would be considering Selles. Absolutely dreadful. Nathan Jones would be a much better option for Reading and that really is saying something.
  4. There would have been a meltdown if we had appointed him so its a lose lose.
  5. If we are looking at former Wolves managers would also be happy with Lage - he had them playing some good stuff, just didn’t have a striker.

    Che Adams

Yet another statement that doesn’t commit to being there next year. If he cares that much there’s one way of showing it - give us a year in the Championship to help put right the wrongs.
  7. Thank god they showed their mettle in sticking with the Spanish Wigley instead. Truly inspirational stuff.
  8. Hard to see how keeping Mad Nate could have been any worse tbh. The Spanish Wigley. Sooner his departure is confirmed the better. Until that happens I worry there’s a chance these SR morons will continue with him.
  9. Is Carrillo better than Tall Paul? Think he might be, at least he got an assist…
  10. This sums up how I am feeling right now. For a while we were a club on the up and one that made you think almost anything was possible. But for our purple patch after the COVID restart that period of optimism is long gone. For me, and I know others will disagree, the decline started when Koeman walked out. We had a golden opportunity to kick on from a 6th placed finish and we blew it. We appointed the wrong manager, signed the wrong players etc. The attempt to "get us back on track" by appointing Pellegrino was a disaster and, bar a few OK periods with Ralph, we've been pretty abject for a while. Hard to say this hasn't been coming really - the squad is shattered mentally. Quite looking forward to the Championship, provided that it comes with the clear out we so desperately need. Not massively confident in SR's decision making given how poor its been this season though.
  11. Maitland-Niles is just terrible.
  12. God the sooner we get rid of this bunch of wasters the better. An insult to travelling fans. They don’t even care.
  13. Yep. Arguably he's even worse than Jones. Almost as if the guy who has been here all season shares a lot of the responsibility for what has happened... Sooner Selles gets his P45 and we rip it up and start again the better.
  14. This lot don’t care so why should we? I’ve switched it off. Sooner Selles is fired the better.
  15. Are we sure Jones is the worst manager we’ve had this season? From where I am sitting it’s Selles. Utterly clueless.
  16. 2-1 now. Come on Fulham.
  17. He is top top quality.
  18. Just goes to show that if we hadn't appointed Selles off the back of one result (which, looking back, was a one off) that, with the way results have gone, staying up would have been achievable had the board gotten the appointment right. Yet another mistake.
  19. All I want is to stop with this overengineered false 9 crap - we are not good enough to play like that. The opposition doesn't have to think about us in possession as we are always so deep. Honestly, I'd go 4-4-1-1 and play Charly just behind Big Paul (he might at least give Arsenal defenders something to think about). The few times we've actually put in a cross for Paul we've almost scored so let's focus on doing that more often. At least AMN can't play on Friday so we are "forced" to play KWP in his best position. I sort of understood him playing LB last year as Tino was so good but continually playing on his weaker side to accommodate a player as crap as AMN has been madness.
  20. Not really 9 games when he’s the only constant over the whole season from a coaching perspective. But, either way, are you saying you’ve seen enough in these “9 games” to give him the benefit of a doubt for next season? We can’t score and we can’t defend and everything Selles describes in terms of tactics is the polar opposite of what is happening on the pitch. Either he can’t translate his ideas onto the pitch (he’s basically had a season’s worth of input in total) or his ideas are cr*p. Pretty surprised anyone who has watched us recently can conclude that anything other than wholesale change from a coaching perspective is what we need here.
  21. Bought tickets for this after we drew with Spurs and showed some fight - wishing I hadn't at this point.
  22. Christ if we continue with Selles I might have to tune out of next season. Bloke is a fraud, just as bad as Jones but speaks more politely and wears a polo neck. He is the only constant, from a coaching perspective, in this absolutely woeful season.
  23. Usually with a young keeper you accept a few mistakes as the price of someone who has potential. Bazunu has shown absolutely nothing - a League One keeper at best - wouldn’t even want him starting for us next season in the Championship. He’s shown less ability than Gunn did during his time with us and it was universally considered the right decision to move on from him. Massive arrogant gamble from Rasmus and Co that has backfired spectacularly. Get rid.
  24. Given the number of youngsters we've been willing to throw into the Premier League when they clearly are not ready (Mara, Edozie etc.) is seems absolute insanity that we did not try and recall Tella in January. Or is it the SR way that any youngsters we play have to be from their fancy spreadsheet?
  25. I went to the game with a mate yesterday in the home end - he is a WHU season ticket holder - he said we were the most negative team he's seen there this season and was surprised by the lack of intensity. The way we play is really strange to watch. My thoughts, in no particular order: There's no pace (until Kamaldeen came on) and barely any attacking intent. Continuing to pick players like Moi is killing us going forward. Teams can just sit off us as they are under no threat - no wonder our passing and possession stats look great, we are given all the time in the world to knock it round in non-threatening areas. We actually defend OK 90% of the time but make some criminal errors/lapses in concentration basically every game and when you can't score that's why you lose 1-0 8 times in a season. Not really his fault but Bazunu was nowhere near the header - he looks like a child playing in goal when a shot is on target. Lavia had some nice touches but again nothing that got us going once we crossed half way. Conversely thought JWP was poor, lost the ball in some poor areas - looked off the pace. Armstrong was woeful. Our play looks very clumsy and haphazard, compared to West Ham who I thought were extremely poor, even when we come away with the ball its usually off the back of almost giving it away. Not the greatest footballer in the world but I'd start with Paul until the rest of the season and try and swing a few more crosses into him. We need goals and we won't score them with Walcott as a number 9 or even with Adams once he comes back. At the very least, the next 9 games might tell us if Onuachu can do a job for us in the Championship. Tough day all round really - hard to see how we will survive from here - on current evidence I don't think Selles is the man to get us back up next year. We need a fresh start in almost all areas.
