  1. Exactly. But presumably the experts on here would only be satisfied if we got David Gill in on a temporary basis whilst we waited for Florentino Perez to serve his notice....honestly. Its a sensible move by KL to have someone in the role temporarily who knows the club. Any suggestion otherwise is pure speculation IMO.
  2. It doesn't need to be inspiring, its an interim appointment. We were hardly going to get someone with glowing credentials to step in for a short space of time. We needed to have someone as CEO whilst we approach, interview and then offer the job to external candidates. As if someone with any aspiration would have taken the job on a temporary basis....
  3. Why are we all assuming that's correct? We had several ITKs suggesting a shorter period yet that has been disregarded in favour of some dodgy Croatian article....or am I missing something?
  4. Agreed, it could be something totally unrelated. I hope he's fine but until we know the tweet wasn't re bad news on the injury I'm a bit worried!
  5. Dejan's tweet does NOT sound good at all.
  6. Some people are clearly into Sony fanboyism as well by the look of it.
  7. They only showed one replay on BT as it was so horrible. The replay posted above certainly seems to suggest no contact. I await the MOTD verdict with interest. As others have said, a studs up follow through should up follow through could have been called as a foul in its own right.
  8. I don't agree. He doesn't get it for me on that gif posted above.
  9. Have you watched the replay? Doesn't look like he did get it.
  10. I hope that Brown gets the flack he deserves for that on MOTD. The fact he was being touted as a potential WC squad member after today is an utter disgrace. He's a second rate defender living off the fact he has played for Man U and that tackle just evidences it.
  11. Clear from that replay he doesn't get the ball. Should have been sent off.
  12. Refereeing this season has been a complete joke and there are no repercussions at all. It's actually ruining the game.
  13. Horrible tackle from Brown. Just horrible. I know he got the ball but follow through like that should not be allowed.
  14. Wes Brown you filthy excuse for a footballer.
  15. Lovren looks bad. Oh dear.
  16. Something was definitely up with Lambert the last few weeks. Maybe it was him not wanting to leave and Cortese forcing it through that was the cause (if reports that he wants to stay and the deal is now stalling are true).
  17. I thought he did pretty well when he came on, we certainly wouldn't have made the breakthrough had he not come on. Yes we looked more exposed but that usually comes with the territory when you take off a defensive mid and put on an attacker. I thought GR actually carried out his defensive duties pretty well and looked more eager to get stuck in. I'd give him a run if he has his confidence back.
  18. Probably just bad choice of wording. It doesn't 'sound as if' anything as the statement only seeks to reassure fans about player sales. What he meant to say is 'I have interpreted the statement to mean that...' although quite how he does that I have absolutely no idea. Probably read it in the Sun or Daily Mail, same paper which said Poch was going.
  19. I stand corrected, apologies. However, a quick google search reveals that the accounts of the MALI group companies are available, as are their latest financials so there is information out there, you just have to look for it.
  20. Well, in 2012 the turnover of the Liebherr group was 9bn Euros and the value of its current investments is 853.8 million. So there is some publicly available information out there. I'm sure that someone could analyse the annual accounts of the group and therefore have a reasonable guess as to Markus' personal fortune (but of course, he didn't necessarily derive it all from his business interests). The Mali group is only a small part of the entire Liebherr group which looks to be doing pretty well from figures which are publicly available. The divesting of a small part of a very large corporate group and the resignation of 1 employee out of 38,000 does not tell you anything about the financial state of a group of companies. Cortese was in charge of part of the Liebherr group, in no way was he in charge of 'virtually everything'.
  21. Yes, but most people don't form an opinion without any evidence on which to base it. I am interested to hear your reasoning (if any).
  22. This is exactly the problem. A lot on here are just recycling phrases they've read when reading about the Pompey and Leeds meltdowns without any real understanding of what they actually mean in reality.
  23. Do you have any evidence for your belief that Markus didn't have the cash? Or is that just another opinion?
  24. I thought the that the club was benefiting from a trust fund rather than KL's personal wealth. Where has it ever been stated that KL uses her personal wealth to fund SFC. She could be owner as administrator of the trust which was set up on Markus' death. That was my understanding anyway.
  25. When exactly have you ever heard of any club say that? Manchester United frequently stated that Cristiano Ronaldo would not be sold but they sold him when an offer they couldn't refuse came along, same with Spurs and Gareth Bale. Even if KL had used the words that you quote then it wouldn't be an absolute guarantee of everyone staying..no club can give that assurance to its fans, we are no different.
