  1. My mate is an ST holder at Everton and reckons Jelavic is one of the worst strikers they've had in recent years. Yes, he's scored a few but massively went off the boil last season and by the end was missing complete sitters. He reckons he was grossly overpriced at 7 million. He's not great and it serves as a reminder that supposed goal machines in the SPL command hugely over inflated fees but when it all comes down to it they are actually pretty darn average. Not so lazy.
  2. 1) Hooper isn't anything to be too excited about - anyone can score goals in Scotland. There's a reason he almost signed for a Championship team. 2) Norwich have not yet signed Quagliarella. If they do, then I will be impressed as he is a good player. 3) Van Wolfswinkel sounds a good player, but is anyone who says he will be a world beater basing that on anything other than the fact he usually signs for Chelsea and bangs in a few on Football Manager? I'm sure that we had similar threads on here from posters like BS when QPR and Reading signed some players people had heard of/thought were good. That turned out great didn't it? They were probably perceived as 'going for it' last summer. I'm sure our scouts were aware of the availability of players like Hooper and Van Wolfswinkel and that we chose not to sign them as we had other players in mind. I will reserve my judgement until the end of the season.
  3. What a load of tosh. No one said anything about being entitled, the guys father couldn't go at all had the decision not been reversed.
  4. How have you come to that conclusion? Literally nothing in the article remotely suggests that.
  5. Doesn't sound like the Liebherrs want to pull out then does it? Love how everyone jumped to that conclusion. This will get sorted I'm sure, Markus trusted NC completely and the family must know this. Probably just contractual posturing. Lets just relax for now. If he goes we will get someone else but I don't think he will.
  6. Reading dross like this makes me wonder if I actually watch the same game as other Saints fans. Typical overreaction response. We dominated Sunderland, if Rickie's shot had gone in at the end but everything else had panned out in exactly the same way I guarantee you would not have written this.
  7. Because we have stayed in the Premier League. Not bizarre at all. Your constant moaning at an amazing achievement given how we started is bizarre.
  8. Unbelievable that some on here are so negative but hardly surprising given the form of most posters on here. I was at the game, saints fans were absolutely brilliant, full voice for the full 90. Sunderland were crap in all departments and their fans embarrassingly bad. A hard earned point which sees us safe (should have won mind). Great subs from MP. Prem next year and people still complain?
  9. He called Villa their "champions league final" and they lost 6-1, he looked for a reaction against a dire Stoke and they only mustered a draw so he can't be that great. I'm nervous, but only because we may not play as we can. If we do we will have too much for them regardless of what Di Canio says to them.
  10. I'm going to this. Huge game.
  11. Except Norwich...
  12. You realise that what you have said makes literally no sense... It was 100-1 because it was statistically very unlikely we'd go down but there has been a run of particularly unlikely results meaning that its now more likely hence the shortening of the odds. 20-1 compared to the odds of the other teams are still long odds... At the time people were crowing it was very unlikely we would go down and despite an unlikely string of results it still is...
  13. Apologies my mistake I forgot that Stoke are a whole point ahead..if we could get caught then they easily could too. I never said I thought things were rosy (perhaps you should read what I said before making such assumption). My calling Dalek a tit referred to his constant need to tell the entire site that we were definitely going down, Wigan definitely going to catch us etc. Christ, the way some talk on here you'd think we were in Wigans position.
  14. You remember that there are a mere 2 games left yes? Also one of these fearsome ge in hands for Sunderland is against a team also below us. It's a win win that one. I hope that, if we do go down, you gain immense pleasure from telling us all that you told us so...tit.
  15. I'm not even going to dignify this with a proper response. I don't think you have quite grasped what I have said. We have to be overtaken not just by Wigan but by every other team below us. Do you actually enjoy supporting Saints? I mean really? It can't be pleasant with such constant overwhelming pessimism!
  16. I do find it entertaining that everyone wetting themselves about Wigan completely forgets how many teams there are below us, most of whom aren't in good form at all.
  17. Oh dear...
  18. I would be keen to write as well.
  19. Rickie and Shaw for me. Morgan a close second but SRL has just been immense for us this season. Cork would be third, such a difference when he came back in. Most improved would be JRod (compared to how he was under NA)
  20. Good for us I think. Wigan still 6 pts behind and finishes QPR off.
  21. Well, his stupid free kick straight to Suarez, his clearance straight to Johnson leading to their goal, his clearance straight to Park v Qpr, getting skinned for Keneyne's goal vs Stoke. Not all those have cost us points but potentially goals. Great player but defensively nowhere near perfect. Anyone who thinks his defensive work is without fault is just naive. IMO of course.
  22. Out of interest...how many times have you predicted a favourable result for us?!
  23. Chris Foy loves to give a questionable hand ball. Such a home team ref its untrue
  24. I expect so. MP needs to stop this.
