Assume the lettering and numbers will be white?

Two things about this latest development: a) There is no way we'd offer 6m for Butland b) If we did there is absolutely no way that Brum would turn it down.

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition

Great player, 1m would be an utter steal. Been to see QPR a few times and has been the stand out player every time. -
Exactly. Instead, we ended up with Davenport and Bernard (two of the worst players I have ever seen in Saints' shirts), his son who, whilst a good player in his day, wasn't fit enough at all for a relegation battle. He should have kept us up. For all the pundits saying "oh Harry's picked out another gem here" they seem to overlook the 15 or so duds it took for him to get that far. Even at Pompey where he is lauded for picking out so many good players, he also signed some absolute dross. Vastly overrated, no man management skills at all, can't improve a struggling team without replacing it. If I were a chairman I wouldn't touch him.

He was utter garbage when he came on against Cov in the last game: slow, disinterested and then celebrated like a lunatic when we went up...newsflash Jason - you played little to no part in our success. Can't bring myself to like the bloke after everything that's supposedly gone on. If the price is right get rid. Wasn't good enough to hold down a place in the Champ once back even though we didn't have a stand out right mid, won't be good enough for the Prem. Let's cut our losses.

Dune in wind up shocker...

If the source is so 'decent' why not say who told you rather than post utter tripe and expect anyone to believe it?

Just finished my first season with Norwich and came 8th. My current team is pretty much Norwich's first 11 with the addition of J-Rod. Playing the formation everyone seems to on here and Grant Holt is an absolute beast. Badly need to strengthen the defence though. Only signing so far is Kyle Naughton on a permanent deal. Looking at Nathan Redmond as well from Brum. Anyone got any other suggestions?
-
Got to be the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a while. 1) Why would he go to Norwich? 2) How on earth would Norwich have enough cash to offer him 70k a week? 3) If they were going to offer a player 70k a week then they'd go for someone that was more proven than Lambert. If this comes from one of your decent sources, I'd love to know what the unreliable ones come out with. Messi to Saints anyone?

Obviously everyone on SWF is in a better position to know about the state of the club than someone who has seen first hand what goes on behind the scenes and spoken to those who have great ambition for the club. He doesn't actually say it will definitely happen just that it is what we are striving for. If the article has said Holmes tips Saints for midtable obscurity then the usual suspects would be on here spitting blood. But as usual certain posters on here feel the need to mock everything and try and make it into something negative because obviously they know better. I for one find it encouraging he has said these things, whether I think it will happen in reality is another matter but got to aim high.

So a 18 year old keeper who's only first team experience is in League Two over the keeper was voted the best in the Championship? Assuming, as I do that the best three English keepers get selected. Ridiculous view point to hold. 24 games at Cheltenham over a full season in a Premier League promotion winning team? I know who I'd rather have.
-
He's only played 6 games for U21s...how impressive could he have been?
-
Its really not, do you honestly think Butland deserves to be in the squad over Kelvin? He's only played a handful of games on loan at a league 2 side. I think its fair enough to be looking to the future but seems very convinient that the kid has immediately come to Hodgson's attention since he appointed the Brum keeping coach for England.

A mate of mine supports Everton and can't see them bidding. They can't afford him for a start, they now have Jelavic and they haven't played anything other than one up front for the last 3 seasons.

Rodgers now Liverpool boss, lets go hijack this move for Sigudsson. He'd be perfect for us. -

I think its a bit of a shame not to give him another year. He made a crucial contribution to us being where we are now and even with Sharp et al you felt that he would probably be in the team if fit. With 7 subs available in the Prem I felt he was worth a place in the squad. Looking at the released list, I think we're going to have to do some major work in the transfer market this summer to fill the gaps in the squad. Especially the keeper situation.

Which is what exactly? The comments aren't nasty...just saying we may as well change the title to something less definite seeing as the rest of us who aren't 'in the know' have not one shread of evidence to back up the assertion made in the thread title. I'm sure we'd all be more forgiving if someone let on how credible the supposed source is..until then, I hear a lot of things down the pub that I choose not to believe.
-
Also the manager Villa are talking about is quite clearly Paul Lambert at Norwich.
-
Can we change the title of this thread please? It scares the **** out of anyone who hasnt been on the site for a while and there is absolutely no basis to say its true other than the hearsay of one poster who won't reveal his 'source'. In my mind there's no way it will happen but until it does lets make it clear its barely even a rumour.

If there was ever a player who would definitely disrupt morale then its him. Stay well clear. Would much rather honest, hardworking, down to earth pros like Sharp and Rickie got their chance before we go chasing players who think they are better than they are and put their own interests ahead of the team. -
GK: Kevin Miller (I still find it bizarre that he was first choice for a time - God we must have been desperate. DR: Jermaine Wright (Just the worst footballer I've ever seen) DC: Pele (Not a defender so why sign him as one?) DC: Bennett/Makin (that defensive pairing against Palace on the opening day of one season has got to be the weakest I've seen since supporting Saints) DL: Vignal (Had friends who said he'd be naff having seen him at Pompey, they were right - just shocking) ML: Hammill (Overweight and useless) MC: Safri (Don't think I ever saw him pass it forwards) MC: Idiakez (too old even when he signed for us) MR: Jason Euell (Mule - says it all) FC: David McGoldrick (thought he was all that, he wasn't. Every time I see one of his cockily taken yet missed penalties it makes me so angry) FC: Saga (with the caveat of it being once he'd signed permanently. Thought we'd signed the new Pahars but he was just dreadful after signing on the dotted line)
