Saints Greatest XI - Nominations For Best CBs.
mprobert replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
Dave Watson and Chris Nicholl, Mark Wright close third -
I was trying to buy a goal
-
- not from a corner, its not in the script
-
Wouldnt want to be a Sunderland fan - £80Mill spent on the team, one place above the relegation zone and losing 4-1 at home to Bolton
-
I'd take a point at the moment

Question: Do you hate Lowe and Wilde more than you love The Club?
mprobert replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
If we all say we hate them it'll make us much better fans ... mmm -
Very encouraging. Good to hear some positive news on here, and the guys seem to be genuinely trying to do something special at Saints, good on them.

My schoolboy hero, a Saints legend.

I'm afraid you've hit the nail on the head there - I never get excited when Saints get a corner, yet when the opposition get one they are bound to score
-
Dont blame the manager, he's only doing what his chairman told hm to do. Oops slipped into Saints forum auto-moan mode for a second.

Everything we wanted - except a Saints goal. Not a bad side though Plymouth, 7th going into tonights game, and they obviously came for the draw. On the positives, a clean sheet, another point (more than Charlton, Blackpool or Norwich managed) sounded like a good cameo from Patterson and a much improved performance from James. At least we're away next!

Really good report on "On the Cross" http://www.southampton-mad.co.uk/news/loadrprt.asp?cid=MTCH&id=418614

The youth approach will NEVER deliver stability.

I could live with permanent residence in the top 6 of the Premier League and Champions League football each season, maybe the odd cup win. -
Nice to see some of the Shining Wits getting a bit of backlash at last. I expect some will still insist that Steve Coppell is part of the OS spin machine however. If you look at the top CCC teams this season - we've beaten Brum this year, played Wolves of the pitch with 10 men (OK we lost) and beaten Reading away. Not bad in a consolidating season, lets all enjoy the progress and hope it continues. Well done the boysh, and well done Jan.

I'm one of the sad majority unable to say "I was there" at the Reading game. Well done to all those who made it. For someone whos kids have grown up thinking that Bradley's real name is "Wright-Phillips Offside" is there any evidence to suggest that he has put that particular problem behind him now?

I was just trying to use an extreme, yet illogical positive statement to illustrate the comedy in all the extreme and illogical negative comments on the forum. I appreciate my earlier point about only 3 teams having a better away record wasnt really up to the mark on the grounds that it was true. We rarely hear any reasoned discussion but admittedly I'm probably looking in the wrong place for that.
-
We could lose all our remaining games and still stay up .... probably not a good strategy though
-
..but only 3 CCC teams have won more away games this season!!
-
I think you're probably right, but if if he had JP would then have been slated for not picking one of our best and "in form" players for the starting line up. Who'd be a manager!?

Lets have a vote on cutting taxes - are you with me?

Good post - how did that get through the filters

Are Wolves still hanging on?

I had a cracking night out in Wolverhampton a few years back too, Saints won 6-2. That was a few years back.
