  1. At least we've got a good excuse now
  2. You'll always get a result
  3. OK, that one fell on stoney ground didn't it, if you have to explain a joke its not quite the same as first time round
  4. Impossible, they've already got 2
  5. C o y r !!!
  6. Classic message board stuff - within a handful of posts there are so many views on the same subject represented, including opposites, could be talking about anything, including the current team, although there are rather too many positive views so far for that... I don't like it. it sucks Looks better then the old one I quite like it I actually quite like it
  7. Pre season we played some really nice football (yes, I know it wasnt exactly top opposition) passing the ball around with Gillett and Spiderman usually the fulcrum in the middle and good wing play from Holmes and Thompson. It takes a lot of confidence/composure to keep doing that in the thick of battle though and the easier option is just to get rid of it in the general direction of the opposition's goal. A few injuries and a few bad results had seriously dented the total football objective. I hope they can keep with it and make it work, and prove a few people wrong. Middle table would be a good result this year (unfortunately) if we are realistic.
  8. I've not seen that before - is that what you think has been taken out in total or what he has personally received?
  9. Seems like low risk, worth a try. God there will be some really disappointed people on here if the guy turns out to be a gem! Good luck to him.
  10. Yes, all good points. Most of the second half we looked capable of scoring, which wasn't the case in the first half. Some tough games ahead now.
  11. Apologies for that, I forgot to switch off the "knee-jerk auto-response" program that many of us use to send a reply to a thread on any subject whatsoever. Its OK, I've reverted to manual now.
  12. or maybe even play White "in the hole" for a half (in form - two reserve hat-tricks to his name this season)
  13. Sounds plausible unfortunately, perhaps we could have Bosingwa for the rest of the season instead?
  14. Good post Sue - some very good points made. We will have to brace ourselves for the return of the whingers as soon as the next average / poor result comes in but this season was always going to be up and down and we have to hang on for the ride, enjoying these moments and trying to be understanding when we have setbacks - "the kids" will take time to gain experience and confidence but if they can get it right like yesterdays 2nd half a bit more often - wow, its good to be a Saints fan again!
  15. Fair enough Wes
  16. Easy now Wes, why would you want people to argue with you? I was just alluding to the fact that lots of posters call the team sh1te and have a pop at just about every player and everyone else they can think of (you don't have to look too far to see that) whereas in reality, without a white knight supporter willing to donate a few millions, we have to make the best of what we have and that is largely down to the development of young players (as opposed to recycling old journeymen). They should have our support. Many of them are very talented but inexperienced and lacking in confidence. That will take time to achieve but will happen quicker with our backing rather than to a backdrop of boos, snipes on the forum (God forbid any of the team should actually read any of this stuff) and negative chanting. So to hear people from other clubs, professionals not just other supporters, saying how well the team is playing is something to be pleased about - isnt it?
  17. Thats very good to read, its nice to know that some fellow professionals respect and admire what Saints are doing even if some of the fans can't see it
  18. Siily me, came straight to page two of the thread expecting to see something about Killer's pleas to supporters
  19. Thats how it sounded on the commentary, four up front as they played route one (prob knowing we are not going to win much in the air at the back) Jan would be in trouble whatever he did though wouldnt he? - if he pulled more players back and we we ended up defending all the time it would be wrong, if he committed more forward looking for the second goal he would be leaving too much for the defence to do...
  20. Love and peace playmates, but I think you'll find we did get one more point than those other teams!
  21. Unlucky boys. At least our point is more than Doncaster, Blackpool, Reading, Norwich, Watford or Shef Wed managed tonight!
  22. What "Smith Plumstead Saint"?
  23. first reference to he who must not be mentioned on the first half chat - only 8 posts in and one minute after kick off!
