  1. Boyle has said it was the worst moment of his career. He started telling bad spastic jokes about Downs kids and then asked a woman in the front row why she was talking with her feller. She said he was entitled to say his stuff but she has a child with Downs. I have a friend who has a young daughter with Downs and the daughter will need help all her life. My friend did not know her daughter was Downs when pregnant but 90% of pregnant women who are advised during pregnancy abort. Only about 600 Downs children are born in the UK each year because of this. My friend's young daughter is a really happy young kid because she is lovingly supported. I also flew up from Soton to Manchester on Monday with a Downs adult. He was just so beautifully harmless, innocent and trusting. Everyone loved him and helped him. Boyle is an absolute fool for his ignorance and crassness and I hope he has learned a very valuable lesson. I'd like to see him do some public reparations with Downs people.
  2. I guesstimate Huddersfield and Colchester both with 78 points which we means we need six wins from six to scrape in on GD! It's a good target at least!

  4. There are a few I think are trying to do the right thing. I like both Alan Whitehead and John Denham as they are both sensible MPs for Southampton and not egotists within Labour. I like Hilary Benn for being practical. I like Ken Clarke for his robustness. I'd have a drink with Charles Kennedy too.
  5. Obviously the Tories on here will bang on about Gordon Brown etc and the Labour supporters will accuse Cameron and his cohorts of being insincere and/or hypocritical also. But who are the less high profile ones you don't like? My personal top dislike is Hazel Blears. I think she is guilty of scamming expenses and really dislike the way she has supported "populist local causes" in her constituency politics since to try and regain her standing. I despise Barbara Follett for her belief that she is so important she needed to have 24/7 private security paid by the taxpayer on her Cheyne Walk pad to keep her safe. I abhor joke MPs like Lembit Opik who are more concerned with their personal profiles. Landed Tory MPs are usually miles out of touch and are generally useless as they use their position to prop up their other financial interests. Most MPs with Sir in their title are in this category. And I dislike attention seekers like George Galloway who don't do the job they claimed that they would do and are just very bad for their constituents.
  6. New media channels mean there is less far reason for door knocking in 2010. People pick their stuff up from TV, papers, internet and more these days. Politicians only knock doors effectively now in genuinely marginal seats or when they know they are being followed by a media crew which will be broadcast on TV as well.
  7. I think you'll find that the people of Southampton will be returning John Denham and Alan Whitehead as their elected Labour MPs...
  8. Remember, Dune believes the BNP is the genuine way forward folks!

    BNP

Once again I refer Dune to comments made by Tebbit who calls the BNP a Socialist Party. Not sure Dune gets much of this stuff, mind! http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/normantebbit/100022233/the-left-wing-bnp-could-cost-labour-seats-at-the-general-election/

    Hattrick

Relegated back to Div VI despite an away win at second placed team. Too little too late. Time for change!

    BNP

As others have said they are very unlikely to win seats at the GE. Where the BNP have pockets of support such as Barking and Burnley they are still generally second or worse to Labour across the constituency. I don't believe there is a Tory seat that is even challenged realistically by BNP. UKIP are different as their support is more wealthy than BNP's working class white support so the demographics are different. But once again they will not get near any seat with the possible exception of Buckingham which is the Speaker's seat. Tory and Lab and LD are not standing against the Speaker as is usual but Farage is standing for UKIP. The Greens are in a similar position as their support is very disparate although they have a slim chance in Brighton Pavillion where their leader Caroline Lucas is standing. I expect Respect to disappear.
  14. The point is that someone has to run the country so all this spoilt vote nonsense is pretty shortsighted.
  15. I'm sure he'll be back under yet another new name!
  16. Oh dear. The bloke can't even write his CV. Interesting to see his education includes "Nottingham Trent University" between 1980 and 1984. It was actually called Trent Polytechnic in those days. It gained university status in 1992.
  17. Did you have a fight Tedious Dull Days?
  18. What a f***king tosspot thread. I hate it when Dull Days tries and plays politics as he is a Daily Mail reading **** with an IQ of 70. And I'm being nice today! :-)
  19. Dune is at odds with Norman Tebbit who classifies the BNP as, wait for it, a socialist party! http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/normantebbit/100022233/the-left-wing-bnp-could-cost-labour-seats-at-the-general-election/ What do you reckon Dune? (Actually I don't believe Dune has the capacity to understand politics so expect him to ignore this post).
  20. What a moronic question. It lets you answer extremes.
  21. Precisely. More girls' stories lapped up and perpetuated by Alps.
  22. Get a rehydration formula from Boots and drink it when you get in if you want the easy route or drink egg and milk in the morning for the difficult route!

    Unite

I am involved in a proposal for a power station on Humberside. We ran a public exhibition and before you could say trade union there was this bloke from Unite waving his finger in my face and telling me that the energy generation company involved would have to run the plant with the union. 800 construction jobs and 150 operational jobs already planned in an area with high unemployment. The bloke was unbelievable.
  24. I too think Osborne is a prat. Too much of a public schoolboy and has never had a real job. So he's not fit to run the Treasury IMO.
  25. On 17 March I followed all 7 of Bungle's tips for Cheltenham and got a fat 0/7. I am going to change my tipster!
