  1. I watched him against Everton and thought he had a good game. He's got some pace and some physical presence. Hard to know where he will be in 5 years time, but he's not bad for his age
  2. I think there was mention in the Guardian Article of us gaining 2 extra points. Not that would hugely affect things unless we batter Man U 6-0 0n Sunday
  3. Like an end of season friendly really...but a win
  4. I remember Peter Schmeichel putting in his book that the top footballers are always having Agents ringing them trying say that they represent xyz club and that they can secure you £xxx K a week. I'm sure that still goes on and it's quite possibly these wanttobe Agents who feed stories to the journos.
  5. According to my son MOD didn't show our penalty appeals. From my view in the Northam Stand, we had a pretty good shout for a hand ball. I think it's a case of the penalty appeals evened out.
  6. Good Clear Statement
  7. ** Giggle**
  8. Not too bad really. Shaw looked good & did put in several good crosses (to Lambert 1st Half & adam 2nd) Good experience for Gallagher who is only going to get better. Also good to see Reed at the very death. Terrible Ref
  9. Yes please !!! :-)
  10. I must admit with JRod crocked it would be nice to have Puncheon. BUT before JRod got injured I don't think he would have got many minutes on the pitch. Also, my understanding (I'm NOT ITK) was that Puncheon wanted to go to Palace and it's common sense not to try & keep a player who dosn't want to be at the club. Gaston is a talented footballer. His problem is that at the moment he is not as good as Lallana and that there is only really space for one of them in the team. If Gaston wants to stay & fight fo his place I think he will repay the money spent in due course
  11. I think Stoke could well catch us if we don't have a few more decent results. I have to say, that on present form, I'm not worried about Newcastle!
  12. This is true, but until the last 10 minutes we seemed to only try the lofted ball to Lambert at the back post after several minutes of passing. Almost as if, s**t this is going nowhere let loft a long high ball to Lambo at the back post.
  13. The most encouraging thing about Gallagher is that he gets into these good positions in the first place. At the moment he is played for the U21's plus cameo appearances for the first team. Not sure if loaning him out would be any better for his development
  14. Had a chance to think about the game on the long rail journey home (I have to say South Western trains really are crap!) and then read the papers this morning. We were good in the first half (almost a touch of Arsenal a few years ago trying to score the perfect goal). Another day and one goal going in would have lead to a landside. But it didn't happen. When you play against any team they will have a couple of chances, and Cardiff did, and put one away. Chambers & Shaw didn't have their greatest games, although the ball was often fed to them too late many, many time. Loads of times they were in position in space on the wings only to wait while we did 4 or 5 passes in the centre before going wide by which time Cardiff were all set up to defend. Clyne definatly sharped things up when he came on. To be fair to MoPo he did try a Plan B for the final 10 minutes when we had Guly, Lambert & Gallagher on. We started putting a lot of high balls into the box. Not saying it worked, or a good idea but it was a plan B!
  15. I suspect he is concentrating on getting Burnley promoted at the moment. If Burnley get promoted (which seems likey), I would imagine they will offer him a decent new contract.
  16. I think Dani is in the last chance saloon. One more stupid act of temper & no big club will touch him. He has the talent, but is not consistant. If anyone can get something out of him it's MoPo. I wonder if the players would have him back?
  17. I think the Man U fans & us are chasing shadows at the moment
  18. Jay Rodriguez has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament, @SouthamptonFC is sad to confirm. #GetWellSoonJay #saintsfc
  19. I can't imagine that KL has spent all this time and money putting a post NC team into place only to let MoPo walk. Also, I think if MoPo stays, the majority of our players will stay (for another season at least)
  20. If Clyne is fit, I'd be tempted to have him on the bench. Then we have the option of bringing him on at LB and pushing Luke up the pitch to use his pace
  21. Well done Leicester City & Nigel Pearson. Good to see an ex Saints manager having success.
  22. Many Congrats My oldest is 15. I admitted to him that I was going to name him after the first saints player to score after he was born. He would have been called Hassan after Hassan Kachloul. Mrs Wealdsaint, however, was having none of it!
  23. Should have been 10-0. Newcastle were that S**T. But well done lads, the most comprehensive saints victory in the Prem I have ever seen
  24. I think thereis a pattern, where because of out high tempo pressing game, the players are tired in the 2nd half. This tends to be when the better teams pick us apart. The long ball is fine, but if the striker you aim for can't hold the ball up (I'm thinking of a tired Rickie in the second half of games) then within seconds it's back with the other side.
