The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
Farmer Saint replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Oh, and one last thing @Sir Ralph, which Labour policy has increased income tax in this country? Income tax hasn't been changed since 2013... -

And herein lies the issue Ralph...the profile of these people don't pay income tax, and do not have pensions. These are not salaried individuals. You said they are investors and have businesses and assets in the UK - the thought that these people would be paid through income tax is laughable. I don't pay income tax, and although I have some money, I'm not on the scale of these people. The fact that you also think that multi-millionaires would divulge their tax arrangements to a lay person like yourself, just cos you asked them, is very, very funny. Tax arrangements for the wealthy are incredibly complex, and a lot tend not be ethical so they would not share that. In addition to this, you falling into my income tax trap just shows how little you know about millionaires and tax. So when you say income tax, what are they paying income tax on? What income tax were they paying in the UK that they're not paying now in Dubai? -

I have no narrative, so please do. I will await your answer. Moving to Dubai is good for some people, but not the profile of people that you are talking about (that's why I have been challenging), but it will be interesting to see what they say. -

Please can you ask, as very interested. When you say future investments and Labour policy, which Labour policies are pushing them abroad? -

Question for both @Sir Ralph and @east-stand-nic, as Sir Ralph said he couldn't answer this the other day (even though they are his millionaire acquaintance's) What would be the tax advantage for someone who's assets and businesses are UK based, to move to Dubai? On what taxes are they saving money? I just want to see if either of you have an understanding of how it all works. -

Will listen to this later, but have met Jeremy quite a few times. I'm going to hate myself a little bit for this, but he is actually a very affable, generous and dare I say it, good person. -
"Not my words Carol, the words of Top Gear magazine".

Ok. What's your point? If you were comparing them to Just Stop Oil protestors I'd agree... It's like comparing ABH with Speeding, they're completely different misdemeanours.

Slightly irrelevant - she's inciting violence, civil disobedience, vandalism and potentially death to a number of people. In any society that has to be punished.
-
I wouldn't say putting someone in prison who was inciting people to burn down a hotel as ludicrous.
-
That's some mental gymnastics to be able to compare the two of them, congrats.
-
That's irrelevant - Edwards not trying to make an effort to get the ball is a red card. It doesn't matter where Stephens was.

Yeah, the writing styles, poor spelling and grammar, inability to answer questions, crying after getting insulted and then throwing around insults. It all makes sense. I also think both are joke characters - I don't think either can actually be serious. -
By the way, was very interested in what was said by Still about Stephens and the fact that he is clearly such a good guy to be around and massively respected in the dressing room. It does explain why all our Managers for the last few years have continued to have him in and around the first team squad. Also interesting to hear that he is aware of the criticism that he has got in the past. From a purely human level, it really must take some fortitude to overcome that.

Cam Archer plays off the last man. In a situation like yesterday when we were camped in their half, he's literally there for knock-downs and rebounds. That's why he didn't touch the ball much. Downs just wasn't found with any crosses.

I think if we ignore him he might just go away...I'm surprised he's still here in all honesty as he's thoroughly embarrassed himself. If I were him I'd take the loss and go back to enjoying his "holiday". -

How sad. -
Yep, he's proper box to box. I can see why multiple outlets have him as favourite for Championship player of the season.

Sorry, who did I call a "c bomb"? The problem you have is you've come on here playing the big "I am", telling everyone they know nothing about economics, whilst also displaying a horrendous grasp of economics and tax law. You've also admitted to lying about the examples you're coming up with about people moving to Dubai (I'm still waiting on how they are saving tax when all their assets and businesses are in the UK, which was the reason you said they were moving). Whelk has a very cultured way with words when he wants to. He is not stupid, and he is not a chav. However, he does not tolerate a fool. Unfortunately you have ventured into that territory. -
Imagine the commercial revenue potential from shirt lettering - and SR said we need to increase revenue! Fucking seaside B&B.
