  1. Unfortunately this is not the way to deal with this type of inflation - they're using the good old 1970's rhetoric of increasing interest rates as there is "too much" money in the economy. There isn't. The issue is that due to external factors, the war in Ukraine being one, the increase in fuel prices is being felt across the whole economy, through costs increasing. There is nothing you can do about this, except to wait until those costs to subside. That should bring about a fall back to the natural levels of product pricing, but not sure we're going to see this as this would lead is into negative inflation, which brings it's own issues. The reason we're being affected so much is due to our reliance on imported energy and an abundance of imported goods. This would not be an issue if we actually created our own energy, or made our own stuff, but this country doesn't do either enough. The only thing the BoE is doing, is driving down house prices (which will have a small effect on the inflation measure that includes these), but apart from that, nothing else. People aren't frivolously spending money, so increasing interest rates is not the instrument to use.
  2. Glad it's finally done - I haven't seen any other realistic alternative that is a better choice. Welcome Russell, and good luck!
  3. We already lost that case.
  4. Yeah, cos that's what people are saying. Much hyperbole?
  5. It depends what you're expecting out of it. For me it takes the edge off on a day to day basis. I wouldn't buy them off Amazon though tbf. I think I pay around £45 for 30 gummies (1 a day).
  6. Mainly because anxiety isn't a "root cause" form of depression. Its not a "oh shit, I've just remembered I was touched as a kid" kind of thing. It's an "I'm wired slightly wrong" kinda thing, which relies on coping mechanisms to deal with it. This is one of those things that takes the edge off. Also, why would you automatically think I haven't?
  7. I use CBD for anxiety - it's really quite good.
  8. I'll raid the kid's piggy banks and give them the £1.25 if that's all they need.
  9. So he wants more game time. We can give him that next season.
  10. Fair enough - yes it's sad times when anyone is at risk with their job - it will however be interesting to see how many go (and if we go up next season, how difficult it will be to re-recruit in a post Brexit world).
  11. Do we have more than 200 office staff? Seems a lot.
  12. So... Sell Lavia - £40m JWP - £35m KWP - £20m Salisu - £15m ABK - £20m Perraud - £5m Diallo - £5m Orsic - £2m?? 13. You realise that mistakes aren't trained - mistakes are actually not something under a managers control, other than picking players that are more or less inclined to those mistakes. 4th top scorers in the League last year - that sounds pretty good doesn't it?
  14. Seems you've watched Saints the same amount as the other fuckwits who think we played "possession" football under Selles. We haven't played possession football since Puel.
  15. So you rate him then?
  16. The club's not rotten, there has just been a lack of investment in previous years, and some bad decisions made last year, that's all. Get over it, move on, support the Club.
  17. I hear we wanted Guardiola to continue the "Man City experiment", but we wouldn't stump up the additional £400k in compensation that City wanted. He'd already signed a 12 month rental on a 2 bed in Ocean Village, so he's now lost his £1300 deposit. Livid, apparently.
  18. Still no names though...
  19. I see no-one has managed to come up with a better, realistic appointment.
  20. Any idea who?
  21. So, trying to work this out. Are we: A) Happy with Russell Martin (happy clapper apologists) B) Not happy with Russell Martin (cry-baby snowflakes) C) Ambivalent about Russell Martin (not proper Saints fans) D) All of the above I think he seems like a decent appointment (if it happens). We aren't going to get anyone who's that good (ie Prem calibre), that ship has sailed. I don't know about anyone else, and I would like to see exactly who leaves in the Summer, but we could have a very exciting young team to bed in at Championship level. I'm looking forward to it.
  22. Selles is a good looking Nathan Jones. We're fucking shit.
  23. Should have asked Ivan Toney before the game what the score was gonna be.
  24. As has been said many times, we just don't create enough, and haven't for years. Most of our goals come from "worldies" or mistakes.
  25. We're going to get battered.
