I thought Adam Blackmore asked a very good question about at what point or timeframe should we judge Russell Martin’s system of play. No one can argue that Saints fans don’t have reason to be worried about not only the last two results but also the last few seasons and if the atmosphere at St Mary’s gets negative after we conceded some truly silly goals who can possibly be surprised? My god we’re shell shocked and had two 9-0’s dumped on us. That said I can’t help but like Russell and the way he handles himself plus the idea of yet another new manager is embarrassing. He is not going to change his beliefs or system and was brought in because of those things so we can only take a deep breath and give him time to truly implement it. We’ve been through worse things and will come through in the end🤞 so no “Happy Clappers” or “Bed wetters” just Fans that really care about a team they love.

You don’t mention Tall Paul so I’ll take that as you agree we wasted time and money. As for Sulemana he was brought in for one main reason, keep us in the Premier League and he along with Paul offered little to nothing in that department. Maybe we will get our money back, I certainly hope so but currently we’re stuck with one no one seems interested in and another that doesn’t seem interested in staying. Sorry but in my humble opinion that’s money pissed away and I can only hope you’re correct about money coming back as we could really use it now.

Him and Tall Paul are money pissed away, one can only hope this is a lesson we don’t repeat. Couldn’t be bothered if both leave, we’ve had to say goodbye to some great players and these aren’t in that group.

It’s players with his mentality that got us relegated in the first place, sell him ASAP. Some of last year’s squad think way to highly of their ability and RM is building a team we can like again.

Next few days could get very interesting, hopefully we can find a place for Tall Paul and recoup some of his transfer. Martin’s Swansea team conceded 5th highest amount of goals last season, this half shouldn’t surprise anyone. We’ve conceded easy goals for 2 years and have only got weaker.

Yes Hodgson has previously been fired but not followed up by a successful Patrick Vieira run with the same group. I can only go by the one time they’ve had the same squad in the same timeframe.

Think he was absolutely brilliant as a player, so big respect in that regard but Palace have been resurrected by Hodgson who seems to have made the same group of players miles better than Patrick could. Also the fact he’s been fired twice in a fairly short managerial career is disconcerting to say the least.
