I’m currently sacrificing chickens and staying away from black cats in the faint hope Ross can actually play again and god forbid be a striker that scores.

We haven’t had a proper goal scorer for 3 seasons and it was the main reason for most of our problems and pain which finally led to relegation. So when we went into yet another transfer window to fix it we bought an injured one, having a decent striker would have won today’s game and that’s why people are frustrated.

I know it’s a fairly new problem but does anyone think we need a striker/goalscorer?

All in all a much improved performance. Better balance of playing out of the back while also retaining a good direct threat with pace. Possibly our strongest lineup with maybe Charles for Smallbone. He took his goal well but his lack of pace is concerning, always pulling shirts to try and recover.

Don’t only leave 1 player back on corners, there done it for him.

It’s laughable to say or think that the fans that turn up every week and hand over their hard earned money are in anyway to blame for the current situation or the awful last 3 seasons. They’ve been served up a shit show by so called professionals making hundreds of times what the they make but still turn up in the distant hope Saints show up and produce. Don’t ever blame them, they will still be here when all the frauds are long gone.

He mentioned scar tissue again, if it’s a problem that we fold every time we concede or something goes wrong I’d say you and Wilcox totally failed in the transfer window and shouldn’t of got in players that have no intestinal fortitude and collapse like cheap deck chairs. We’ve kept the players that contributed to our relegation and boosted the squad with weaklings, great Job 🤬

Scar tissue can be fixed by being good at football, our squad is full of players that got relegated or are loans that couldn’t really give a crap about Southampton as they will move on anyway. Just when we thought it couldn’t get worse 😳

Nothing against Ross but he may just be another addition to our list of disastrous striker signings. buying an injured player for a position that has haunted us for 2 seasons is as irresponsible as it is stupid.

Think that all the changes in our spine show we have a major problem to fix next window.

I thought Adam Blackmore asked a very good question about at what point or timeframe should we judge Russell Martin’s system of play. No one can argue that Saints fans don’t have reason to be worried about not only the last two results but also the last few seasons and if the atmosphere at St Mary’s gets negative after we conceded some truly silly goals who can possibly be surprised? My god we’re shell shocked and had two 9-0’s dumped on us. That said I can’t help but like Russell and the way he handles himself plus the idea of yet another new manager is embarrassing. He is not going to change his beliefs or system and was brought in because of those things so we can only take a deep breath and give him time to truly implement it. We’ve been through worse things and will come through in the end🤞 so no “Happy Clappers” or “Bed wetters” just Fans that really care about a team they love.

Last season we struggled against several League One sides and now we’re in the Championship conceding goals at an alarming rate, 6 more than bottom of the league. How tough is it to see that winning a corner shouldn’t be a bad thing and that maybe something should change in that regard?

We’ve pretty much blown that theory up. Teams that are successful with possession obsession football like Man City and Barcelona have the technical players to make it work, we don’t! RM is going to be more flexible and learn what works and what doesn’t with our squad. I like Martin and really hope he can be successful 🤞

Well someone was doing drugs when we brought Tall Paul seems only fitting it’s the same when we sell.

He stands 6ft 7in but turns 5ft 9in jumping.

You don’t mention Tall Paul so I’ll take that as you agree we wasted time and money. As for Sulemana he was brought in for one main reason, keep us in the Premier League and he along with Paul offered little to nothing in that department. Maybe we will get our money back, I certainly hope so but currently we’re stuck with one no one seems interested in and another that doesn’t seem interested in staying. Sorry but in my humble opinion that’s money pissed away and I can only hope you’re correct about money coming back as we could really use it now.

Him and Tall Paul are money pissed away, one can only hope this is a lesson we don’t repeat. Couldn’t be bothered if both leave, we’ve had to say goodbye to some great players and these aren’t in that group.

It’s players with his mentality that got us relegated in the first place, sell him ASAP. Some of last year’s squad think way to highly of their ability and RM is building a team we can like again.
