Akachukwu is a 5ft10in midfielder so I don't think he'll be the 3rd striker. Agree with the rest of the summary, I think Alfie House has said on his X account that Spors is looking for a #2 GK. Probably someone with a younger profile who can be an understudy to Peretz while Long is the experienced third GK for training etc. Dobbin will share some of the LW minutes with Scienza as well I would assume and probably some minutes up top too, rather than only getting in as an Azaz alternative

Agree. On the face of it his physicality might be suited to a rotational role as one of the central attackers with Larin and another. He's a decent finisher at this level and has a pretty good scoring record. He certainly wasn't suited to hugging the left touchline in a naive high possession team playing Russball in the PL (what a time to be alive)

So that’s Jander, Azaz and Edozie all out of the Germany trip. Other than that, everyone is there, including the guys who will obviously leave. I assume they won’t take match minutes but are just there to participate in training and give them a chance to keep themselves sharp

I am assuming the club's repeated public support for Tonda - including in today's statement - is laying the table for a hefty legal appeal should the punishment be so substantial as to derail our season at what is now about two weeks notice to our first competitive game (vs Colchester) I felt the same about Solak doing his media appearances in early June as well. The club is setting itself up to say it cooperated in good faith and was transparent about its intention to retain Eckert's services but then the FA took 2-3 months to communicate that they'd be bringing a punishment which renders that impossible/impractical

That was my first feeling but it's also a very intentionally broad and vague rule which leaves a full range of punishments on the table as options as the FA sees fit for the severity of the breach

I saw it before it came down. It didn't mention the punishment, but it did say he had been charged with breaching Rule E3.1, which I believe is 'bringing the game into disrepute' and it stated that the club remains fully supportive of Tonda

I would be happy to see Ross back but I'd still feel a little apprehensive if the extent of our striking options are 31 year old Cyle Larin and Ross Stewart with his cheesestring muscles. I suppose there's always a chance of a versatile loan addition and Tonda will also consider Dobbin and Azaz as forward options. And if things went tits up before the new year then you have the January window to try and dig up another Larin type signing mid-season...
