I try to feature beers that are local or not easy to get hold of in my native Hants and more common to where we live now but tonight feels like a bitter night being mild in temperature so I’ve put the rarer winter beers to one side that I’ve been having in the cold snap and poured a Thornbridge Lord Marples instead for the game. Very good it is too, lovely head, a subtle fruitiness of citrus and 🍐, dry and bitter finish. Bottled conditioned with live yeast so has some of the smoothness of cask.

Fair point - Jason’s CV looks decent and cane across as having some substance but should never have signed off on Crock Ness and not clear how much Russell was his appointment. My sense was he completed it but it was a Rasmus idea, which would the extreme clinging onto him when any other club would have moved on by now. We will probably never know.

Wasn’t aimed at you, and Gio is obviously Glasgow Saint etc but there’s a few others posting on here that genuinely reckon SR are doing a great job. I won’t pick out names but you’ll see them. Which is astonishing considering their record so far. Gao left the club hollowed out but established in the PL and a solid team. What has followed has been incredibly bad, they’ve not got a clue and don’t seem to recognise the need to bring operational industry expertise to sort it out. That’s before you consider on the pitch the same type of mistakes are being made more or less game in, game out, with a struggling manager doubling down on deeply flawed methods. And it’s no given that we suddenly get into the autos next year.

It seems to have infected the brains of significant numbers of the fanbase where abject failure is a prelude to hero worship. I cannot think of another club who has been in the top flight for most the post-1966 period who would think this was great. I know the schools in Southampton weren’t much cop but surely they aren’t THAT bad?
