One permanent striker and one loan, possibly one or both contingent on either Archer going to WBA or someone, somewhere thinking Damian Downs could do a job for them (banger racing driver?). Cameron looked lively and keen when he came on so I’m guessing its Downs they want to shift plus BBD if Eustace still wants him, or unless he’s waiting for Derby’s Saudi investment to go for better.

He is from me, one of my favourite Saints players for years and first proper focal point since Pelle. Che did a decent stint as second striker but not sure I’d go quite as far as calling him a focal point in the sane way.

Difficult to understand how he achieved it with some success for Blackburn based on what we’ve seen. I wonder if it’s David Speedie syndrome eg moved from north, didn’t want to in many ways and just isn’t tuned in.

I’ve seen him look decent for Blackburn in the Champ. Whatever he had as a footballer, he’s lost it. Damian Downs is shocking and the worst outfield player I’ve ever seen for Saints since I started watching in 1983/84, but this just as dreadful from BBD. Bit better from Dobbin.
