2004 was all noise and casual vandalism destroying their hovel and taking it out on the OB (and they won!). I’ve seen Millwall chasing them around Waterloo. They have never had a 1991 Covent Garden result and with so much CCTV around now probably never will. Them terrorising the disabled section at Highfield Road summed them up.

True since Suez and 1956 really.
-
He will need to invade because he won’t get 2/3 of the Senate to spend on such a huge asking price, especially when his tariffs have already fucked their economy rotten.
-
True, maybe the other way around, get 60 from Charles and 30 from Oriol. Rest Stewart midweek, see if we can get 60-70 mins Sunday. Last time Stewart played 3 in a week he broke.
-
Make him manager for the skates game - he deserves the hate and humiliation of their inbreds and our travelling support. That would break even his enormous ego.
-
Agree with TSP - even if we can only get 45 mins out of Romeu it’s him and Downes starting there in central midfield unless Charles can start. Maybe rotate Oriol and Charles. Not a game for Jandar. Have to play 4231 and get Fellows and Scienza playing wingers. But Tonda won’t. Unless Sheff Utd score 4 or 5 and he becomes. Untenable.

Didn’t fit with the AI algorithm Rasmus and his brother use but not everything can have a re-sell if you want compete let alone succeed in the Champ and PL, any of the EFL and National League really. Semmens was a bonehead about this as well.

Some key observations: @L1Minus10 is spot on, a journeyman midfielder pisses all over two lightweight midfielders and the worst left back in our history with a bit of height, strength and bit of an engine. Nathan Wood needs to go, three centre backs and he gets bullied like that. I only watch the goals afterwards now so disenfranchised am I but sounds like Quarshie shouldn’t have been taken off and Wood staying on. So easy to play and score against. Eckert has had it as Steve says if the expected defeat happens Sunday. Set pieces, pressing first half, get your crosses in and drop off second half. It’s that easy. @L1Minus10 made a good point about Bazunu. My views are also well known on here, much to the mod’s disgust, but I did post something similar about Gavin being really, really poorly managed in 3.5 years here and no way back. What I hadn’t clocked was that he’d worked with EIGHT managers and probably at least as many keeping coaches. He will never have the natural goalkeeper ability of a Tim Flowers but look how Chris Nicholl blooded him gradually with John Burridge. By contrast, Gavin hasn’t known whether he’s going for a shit or a haircut probably. Whatever happens at Stoke, Mark Robins is good experienced manager and bloke so he can’t lose really.

Saints 1-0 Sheff Utd - Match Thread

It’s reminded me of 2007/8 - hammerings at Preston, Hull and Sheff Weds (5-1, 5-0 and 5-0), sliding from mid-table nothingness under Burley who lost interest, to the thick of a relegation scrap before Pearson, crucial home win v Bristol City who were flying, point at WBA who were promoted, Lallana’s first goal and then the last day staying up v Sheff Utd. Which led onto 08/09 after Lowe messed up and shoved over the cliff what was already a grave situation. The Rasmus of the late 90s and 00s. -
It underscores what all knew - America cannot be trusted over Ukraine.

https://www.lboro.ac.uk/news-events/news/2026/january/greenland-island-military-build-up-arctic/ All about dual aims of challenging China and diminishing Europe. Why the Brexiteers ever thought it was a good idea to pivot towards America, or frankly even the likes of Modi is beyond rational logic. Special relationship my arse.

You don’t hear/see the slow handclap these days but it would be a potent weapon but also not trigger the ‘get behind your team’ brigade like booing would.
-
Just someone like him with some reasonable first team management experience, operational experience, head of scouting etc and played the game as well. Probably more of a Rasmus replacement but he handled Ashley and would have handled SR easily. Should have been looking for a younger version of him when they bought the club. A younger version of John Williams as the CEO who was at Blackburn for their glory years would have helped them as well.
-
Alan Carr’s dad would be but sadly I think he passed away recently.
-
Never seen him let us down. Filled in at LB 2023/2024 and conceded less goals looking more solid until Martin put his favourite (bar Flynn) back in and started leaking again at Brum.
-
Agree but James is a good pro. Deserves a lot better than Saints but his professionalism puts Downes, Downs, Wood, No-Manning-Land, AA and the other tossers to shame.
-
That assumes that him and anyone in his entourage (including the revolting Millers) can actually read. Judging by his 7 year old grammar in the Norway tantrum latter, I’m going to call it that they are thick as shit and illiterate to boot.

We agree, 🦆 said earlier that we probably should have backed Juric for longer where the Martin crew played up. But then we might have also have ‘claimed’ Derby’s record. I don’t think they’d have put in at West Ham or v City like they did for Rusk and Lallana. The players are a disgrace in the main I concur bar the new arrivals and solid people like Bree returning. I think the fans handbrake will come off a bit more after Sunday and they’ll be clear where they stand with us if they aren’t already. -

The leak plus AA’s admission makes it clear he was being undermined. Too much too soon but that squad of players outside of Fellows, Leo, Charles, Jandar, Weligton (as far as we know), Robinson, Peretz and Stewart (when fit), and probably Alex are trouble with a capital T. THB maybe cares a bit more as well. Not to mention lazy with their Martinball and disinterested in the club’s league position and pride. -
This is true both ways, only a handful actually know the facts. On the face of, it’s bizarre that a young kid gets offered ahead of someone with 30-odd full international caps, coaching badges and a rising coaching reputation. Equally, Adam might have thought ‘fuck me, they’ve messed the window up again and I really don’t want to manage Flynn, Ryan, Nathan and others. I’ll carry on with the u21 because this lot change like their underpants and it’ll come around again by February, if I want it at all’.

There were very specific reasons though for his majority, same as Phillips that won’t be there in the same volumes in 2029. They’d have both been pretty solid majorities otherwise. You have a fairer point on gender as the Tories have had three female PMs. Although have the Labour Party since Barbara Castle objectively had a female minister of genuine PM qualities in the same way Thatcher and May were? Some very talented ministers and people like Mo Mowlam for certain but not sure PM skill set. That said, I don’t think Truss being elected by their members is anything to reflect on with pride. She’s almost as mad as Trump. -
A goalkeeper just launched a full goal kick without 50 needless passes between a back 5 and a goal conceded. It offended Russell’s purity,
-
Not if they’re in the bomb squad they won’t. But it means SR and Spors backing a manager to manage and there’s the issue.,.

As @saintant posted above, any improvement would have been contingent on the senior players putting some effort (only Scienza was, and Fellows wasn’t even getting a game). Given AA practically admitted that they didn’t for Will afterwards, I’m not convinced. We were creating a lot more chances but missing them but also conceding horrifically eg Hull away, which has only re-appeared at Boro onwards. He did at least drop Baz and Jack which probably was fuel for more stabbing in the back from the dressing room and Staplewood. He was still wedded to the same formation and we just went longer without a midfield. Even the wins like Wrexham were a 5 minute purple patch with us very patchy through the other 85. That game could have been 5-5, we had no pattern as a newly relegated side v a newly promoted one. I liked what he said and clearly capable of independent thought unlike Tonda-bot. But it rarely translated onto the pitch and in our job our size you have to manage or dispatch Martin’s lovers, the rest of the players, the press and upwards with SR. Very challenging and needs a more experienced head who will call Rasmus, Spors and Martin’s core out on poor and slow performance, on the pitch, and in bringing in the much-needed strong and quick spine through the squad. Neither Still nor Tonda have the body of experience to help them deliver that.
