Most of which seems to be coming from you… Like it or not atm AM is the sort of keeper that GB can only aspire to be. Commanding on crosses, good shot stopper, good distribution in the slightly altered style we’re now playing at the back. Whether or not GB will make it as a top class keeper is definitely open to debate. Still young, I get that, but he definitely has glaring weaknesses which I feel sure will cost us dearly when up against the sort of players he would face if selected to play in the PL.

Totally understand this point of view. I've really enjoyed the championship this season, probably helped by the fact that we've done well. However I understand from the clubs point of view it is imperative that we get promotion so mixed emotions here. -
Just read an article that according to the Bournemouth manager David Brooks will definitely be going back there next season come what may, I started to wonder what the loanee situation was down at St Mary's, I have to admit I've lost track of it all. so who might be coming back, and who might be returning to their parent clubs? I guess Downes is top of the list, the new manager at West Ham will at least want to take a look at him, but apart from him I'm not sure what's what?

Hell, he must have been bad…
-
And there were many more that went straight to their intended target…..
-
Sorry, no he's not. And as for giving him game time hoping he'll improve you just can't do that these days. If you're in the championship then you won't make the top, if you're in the PL you will definitely make the bottom. He needs a season in league one or two just to see if he really has got what it takes to be a top class goalkeeper. Having watched him over this season unfortunately I'm not sure he has.

Just a bit on McCarthy... I know he's on big money but to me his performances over the last few games have proved what a consummate professional he is. From being third choice basically just helping in the pre-match kickaround to being the anchor of the defence is a measure of the man. No tantrums, no hissy fits, just getting on with it. Top man.

What. A. Night. That is all....
-
And that could be the problem. In a one off, winner takes all scenario you can take nothing for granted. See, we are already assuming we’re going to get through tonight….

Very eloquent

Tbh I thought THB had a bad game, just didn’t seem to be on it.
-
But I think you can make a pretty good educated guess….
-
I've often wondered if all the players that are slated as being bad are only bad in the system imposed on the team by Martin. You don't really need flair players or players who can conjure up a piece of magic now and then. As long as their first touch is reasonable and they can pass a ball 5 yards then they're in. I do find it interesting that some of the players we labelled as not good enough for our team have blossomed elsewhere in a different system.

Pompey... it's a bit nearer to Brighton too

Given the current style and level of play I think we’re damned if we do and damned if we don’t at the moment. By that I mean if we do happen to be promoted because the manager seems unable to adapt his style of play no matter what players we manage to bring in like this season he will get found out pretty easily. I shudder to think what some of the top teams and managers would do to us. That’s the damned if we do. The damned if we don’t is if we don’t get promoted playing the same style under RM when the loaners and more gifted players depart for greener pastures. We supposedly have one of the best squads in the championship but we still can’t make it work. Imagine trying goal area tippy tappy with even less capable players than we have at the moment. I don’t doubt that RM is a very decent fellow, but that doesn’t make a capable football manager. IMO he has been found out latterly this season and his limitations have been laid bare for all to see.
-
The way things are going it saddens me to say I don't think we're going to have a lot of choice about that.
-
I want to hear him say I'm not good enough to manage at this level, I resign. Inept, in denial, one trick pony.
-
Until teams found out how easy it was to play through us and the manager refused to change his system.
-
And when was the last time they demonstrated that?
-
And Bazunu doesn't? Bloody hell. Can't stop a shot to his left, can't deal with crosses, first touch is terrible in the goal area tippy tappy stakes, need I go on?
-
What, like the keeper? I’m gone….
-
Probably about the same as a Bazunu error leading to a goal.
