Where have I mentioned those other players? Where have I mentioned 'a new first team'? We are talking about the goalkeeper situation. Gazza is nowhere near at Prem standard, anybody can see that. Also if you are harping on about a new squad. It consists of 25 players I don't see us bringing in 25 new players, 9 at most. Which means we haven't even changed half our squad let alone an entire new one.

You're quite right there should be no sentiment in football. You could argue he has had his shot at the league with Sunderland (even if he was behind one of the worst defences the league has seen). Kelvin is close to retiring and he isn't going to significantly improve. He is a good shot stopper but struggles to command his area and still flaps at crosses. We need a better keeper. I am not advocating signing an entire new squad, simply that we need a top class keeper such as Al Habsi, Vorm, Ruddy, Given, Begovic, Schwarzer. After all these keepers play for teams we should be at least aiming to match.

There's a big difference with playing against the likes of Doncaster, Peterborough and Millwall to Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea.

If you look at the majority of the Premier League sides they all have 3 top goalkeepers. It seems strange that we are just relying on Kelvin and a youngster.
