  6. If it was a private (i.e. not council) car park, they can't touch you. Ignore it.
  7. "Compulsory Liquidation is deemed appropriate, that Andrew Andronikou, Peter Kubik and Michael Kiely are appointed as Joint Compulsory Liquidators of the Company, .... Prior to this meeting both HMRC and Taylor Wessing, representing Sacha Gaydamak’s associated companies, requested that a meeting be called rather than these resolutions being considered by correspondence. On 18 January 2011 the meeting took place.* * I confirm that whilst the resolution to exit via Compulsory Liquidation was passed, both HMRC and Taylor Wessing, together representing a considerably large percentage of creditors, requested that Mr Geoffrey Lambert Carton‐Kelly and Mr David Paul Hudson of Baker Tilly be appointed Joint Liquidators ..." So it was HMRC combined with Gaydamak that have resulted in UHY not being liquidator...
  8. "At this stage it is not believed that Ex‐Player Compromise Agreements, Image Rights or Employee Benefit Trusts are classed as football creditors. This will be reviewed further by the duly appointed Liquidator" Well surprise surprise ... moving the goalposts again ... these were stated as football creditors in the CVA: Unsecured creditors 105,722,574 Deduct football creditor liabilities per the Estimated Statement of Affairs Transfer fees 17,303,818 Player bonus 1,250,638 Player image rights 1,504,151 Compromise Agreement 785,000 EBT 1,540,000 22,383,607 Revised Balance 83,338,967 20 pence in the pound approx. £16.5 million

  11. If I was really cynical, I'd guess it's not been renewed in order that they can claim breach of contract ("the Player must be eligible for employment in the UK" etc.) and thereby remove him from the wage bill...
  12. A few general tips: - don't bother putting "curriculum vitae" at the top. They know that. - keep the personal details (name, phone number, address etc) to a brief couple of lines at the top - promote the most relevant and important information to the top of the CV. Going for a job that relies heavily on your degree? Then put that at the top. If your work experience is more relevant, then use that. - apply the "so what" test. Don't just list facts about your job; say what you did, why you did it, and most importantly, why it benefited your employer. Treat everything as an accomplishment, rather than just a responsibility. Be concise and to the point. - even the least relevant experience can be made relevant. General skills and attributes like problem solving, showing initiative, being reliable, being a good team worker etc are good to show for any job app. - make the best use of space that you can - white space is your enemy. Don't use extra pages unless you really have to. My CV is only a page. A 1 page CV with the same information will look a lot better than a 2 page CV which looks like it is padded out. - don't lie. It'll come back to bite you in the interview. - keep personal interests brief, unless there is a real tangible link to the role you are applying for. They just want to know you are human, they don't actually care about your stamp collection. - don't bother with referees on the CV itself unless specifically requested but make it clear in the covering letter that you can provide them if and when they want them - leave a few details out... imply that there is more to know if they would just invite you in for a chat... - refine it, refine it, refine it. Never ever believe that it is finished. I'm not a recruiter, but headhunting is rife in my industry, so my CV gets a lot of eyeballs and feedback.
  13. *... I highly doubt it is based...
  14. Don't believe that for a second. In what imaginary bizarro-world does monthly payroll work anything like this implies? Sending a list of names to a bank and saying "please give these employees their wages for the month, thanks very much"? And if Lloyds are providing some kind of payroll service, I highly it is based upon some intensely manual process requiring a "list of names". This smells fishy indeed... even for the skates.
  15. So, would they have been fined if they had won? Or got a draw (a credible result away at Villa)?
  16. Don't actually disagree, though not all countries have been as sharply impacted as ours. I happen to agree with the bank bail out (as the lesser of two evils), but we should also acknowledge (in hindsight) that more could have been done at the regulatory level to prevent this kind of shock from being possible or at least as damaging when it did occur. BUT, similarly, now that we have this huge budget deficit and millstone of a national debt, we must take immediate and decisive action to address it. Zero growth (taking the weather in to account) is not a disaster, particularly compared to the doom-saying that has been going on. At the end of this, we will emerge leaner and fitter and ready for a period of sustained growth.
  17. Just making the point that you can't dish out praise for excellent management of the economy on the one hand, whilst simultaneously ignore that the same government presided over the biggest economic crisis since WW2.
  18. Yes, and until my car crash, I was driving faster than ever before!
  19. Still, at least they're trying to find new revenue streams
  20. Virtually zero? But I'm sure the CVA said they planned to bring in £40m from transfers... oh... oh dear...
  21. True, but there is an argument that the (virtually certain) contract extensions should have been taken in to account as part of the CVA, as a known future liability.
  22. We were heading in to (and trying to avoid) admin at the time though... the skates have just come out of it, and therefore should be solvent enough to honour their players' contracts... Just found the relevant rule (section 5 of the FL regulations for anyone interested): 22.1 Each Club shall play its full strength in all Matches played under the auspices of The League unless some satisfactory reason is given. In the event of the explanation not being deemed satisfactory the Board shall refer the matter to the Football Disciplinary Commission which has the power to impose such penalties as it shall think fit.
  23. If the skates leave out Brown and Hughes for the rest of the season, then surely the FL should come down on them for not playing their strongest available team? Also, do the players not have a case for constructive dismissal? They have no alternative but to break contract if they want to play football...
