  1. I read all of Alps posts with interest and I'm with him on this one. On the way home last Saturday after the match (a 400 miles round trip) we tuned in to 606. Ninety per cent of the diatribe (couldn't call it a discussion) was about Liverpool. Two Saints fans called in and were 'tolerated'. Scousers taken seriously. Balanced journalism my arse!
  2. I used the term 'variables' for a specific reason. Families?Children?Schools? Travel?Out of pocket expenses?Unpaid overtime?Dissatisfied with current employer( as in Mintys case) When you've travelled as much as I you may understand.
  3. One for the money,Two for the 'glow',my heads in Liverpool so off I go .........
  4. This. I too know of a number of people who took lower paid jobs rather than move.Too many variables to go into detail.
  5. As another poster wrote a couple of days ago 'Oh! The ironing!'
  6. I think the question we should be asking is 'which of our defectors would get into our current team'? IMHO none!
  7. He's a pedant (yes I have spelt that right!)
  8. This.
  9. When I got my papers this morning the girl who served me (and is a Scouser) said "Can you get me a Saints Shirt as I want to support an ambitious team as our lot are crap and I blame Rodgers!" "Not jumping ship are you" I replied and left the shop with a smug grin across my face. PS. "Oh!Southampton. You're the one eh?" Echoes in my memory.
  10. I quite like Leicester as they are similar to Saints in size and supporters. Pearson will get my applause so too will Deano. Nugent? Bowlicks!!!
  11. Tomorrow is ALL SAINTS day in the Christian Calendar. Is this a good omen? COYS!!!!!!!!
  12. Predicting the outcome of a football match is pure and simply guesswork. Lawrenson has made quite a good living out of it.I was at Stoke on Wednesday and just hoped we'd win. I didn't predict it! PS. Sunderland didn't lose 0 - 8 as Lawro predicted(?) a draw.
  13. Right. I'm leaving for my Nippers for my lift.Should be there by 7. Looking forward to seeing lots of Saints. COYS.
  14. Correct me if I 'm wrong but didn't he jack the job at Accrington?
  15. He obviously reads the Forum as he appears well-informed. I tried at the time of the 'slander' to get the Mods to remove certain comments. Luckily Ralph and Katharina didn't pursue the writers. With our current squad I'm not particularly concerned about Man city or the Arse.Chelsea are the best of the top four at the moment. We all need to put our iconoclastic hats on and bust the myth that we don't merit being where we are. Onwards and Upwards.
  16. Just had a chat with a 'Potter' neighbour. He and his mates don't care if they lose this one because "It's league points we need unlike you lucky buggers who are flying" Let's hope Hughes is of the same frame of mind!
  17. Long is classified as a 'nuisance player' and he's certainly been that in every game he's played for us.I like him and hope he gets included against Stoke on Wednesday.
  18. The back room Staff don't only exist at the Stadium. The Scouts continue to do magnificent job without showing their faces every week. The whole structure of SFC is worthy of accolades these days.
  19. I read that 'Hammers' fan contribution and lol. What planet does he live on? My cousin is a WH STH and has been for many years. She still thinks SA will never change and hopes they stay up in spite of his post-match diatribes. PS.My Aunt and Uncle were also Hammers fans.
  20. Should be a good turn-out of Midlands Saints as it's comparable to a home match for us 'travellers'. Not going to predict the scoreas I lost yet another £5! On Saturday with a 3-0 bet. I believe we will win anyway.
  21. There will be four Haspers and two VFTT. It's almost a home game for us as only Villa is closer.
  22. I like the preface 'blanc' personally.
  23. As I posted yesterday. If the goalie palms a shot into the net is it an own goal? P b ollocks!
