They have named three outfield subs, obviously SC does not even see the value in giving the kids experience of sitting on the bench. I see Lawrence didn't make the game. Paperwork issues, LL realising what a dead end Portsmouth FC is or Baloo not wanting to keep forking £80k per month?

I think a lot of people tried to forget he was our manager once.

I was a few rounds of Champagne down in a bar in Manchester one Saturday night, someone barged passed me, I spun round to have a go at the fella and to my surprise I stammered the immortal words, "Your David Beckham", he replied "Yes" and walked off. Cannot believe I got intellectually done over by Beckham.

Will let this run until tomorrow, then award it to Adam Lallana by the looks of things.

Chaplow - signed a 2 and a half year deal - OFFICIAL
St Chalet replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Very pleased with this signing, I liked Chaplow first time around. The guy seems to have a good attitude, coming back to St Mary's on for the end of season stroll round the pitch even though his loan spell had ended was an indication of this. Good bit of business. -
Someone connected to the club who has left, wonder if he will be back?

Poll added, alas the Pulis nomination came too late.
-
Nominations so far: Lambert Lallana Fonte Davis Chamberlain For good measure I'll suggest Barnard

As others have noted, Wotton is ok as a sub to lock down a game and sit in front of the defence. Many others have noted that with the fixture congestion a strong squad will be even more advantageous this season. I don't think Paul Wotton is the greatest player to ever grace St Mary's but he is a solid pro with bags of FL experience.

Nominations on here and we'll add a poll to this thread.

Was O'Brien a creditor?

Comments here please. Sounds like a great game and with Swindon goal we could end the day 5th.

Chaplow - signed a 2 and a half year deal - OFFICIAL

Just bumping this as I am sure following his goal most on here would not want this to be his last game for us in this second spell. -
Typical civil service attitude to money. No wonder we are where we are.

I think the Aussies have got a little too clever over the past two years with their Batting lineup. 1) Hussey throughout his career has been an opener, when he gets in - he stays in 2) Watson, Opener WTF? Exceeded expectations but a number 6 IMHO 3) Katich, was a middle order batsman, why move to open? Anyway. This lineup looks far more frightening to me as a Pommie than the current lot. Hussey Katich / Hughes Ponting Clarke North Watson Haddin As for the bowlers, Hillfenhaus? Can't believe there is not a spinner in 11m population that cannot edge out his contribution.

It was part of a deal that low did, along with the previous regieme that settled Theo Walcott's add on's meaning we got circa £9m rather than £12m. From memory the initial Bale figure was £5m + another £5m in ad-ons. Runour has it we had a 25% sell on clause which as the above poster has rightly identified we traded for £2m and the legendary Tommy Forescast on a 5 or 6 year deal. There was an article in one the red tops this year about how Levy had effectively saved the Spuds £15m by doing this.
