  1. I don't think the 'Southampton way' is entirely tactically specific. It would undermine the manager if that was the case. It is a loose philosophy of youth development through nurturing technical ability and encouraging attacking football which supports the first team. Nigel Adkins, Pochettino and Koeman all had their influence on the way the first team played, there are differences but the 'Southampton way' underpins their working environment.
  2. To say he is a class act.... what an understatement. That was the best time to be a Saints fan. I doubt we will ever come close to anything that felt so good as a supporter in my lifetime. Loved that documentary, wonderful.
  3. The one on stilts? Yes, that's still there. G Block was where I lived in my first year and still going strong now. H block has now been condemned due to concrete rot...... It's about the only thing the City has to shout about, the Engineering and Nursing Schools were always it's strong suit. Callice Court is ok, brand spanking new and pretty much on the campus.
  4. Priory Hall? By the Cathedral? Or one of those 'Study Inn' type places that have taken over all the abandoned office and retail zones? God that place is a dump.
  5. The Tudor reforms allow it. Following on from Hammersmith it was the best way.
  6. Just a little perhaps... In all seriousness, if you are open to selling, I would be interested.
  7. No, I'll liberate you from the burden for a tenner.
  8. Always wanted to play this move! Turkey Street.
  9. Human nature conquers all.
  10. Scoundrel!!! I doff my cap. Heathrow Terminals 1,2 and 3. You didn't see that coming.......
  11. It goes to show, the European Union is nothing of the sort. It's too politically complex to react to a crisis so... every man for himself! The sooner we are out the better!!
  12. Quite frankly, you wouldn't need to work again! The ethics of that are another matter.... (For my daughter I would always set the example of going to work...) But, you wouldn't need to.
  13. The sheer number of degree places and number of degrees that have been created stipulate that there is one hell of a student property market in any city with a University.... so, any city. Take half a million pounds to Derby, Coventry, Birmingham, Stoke.... you can create yourself £2,000+ a month of income and a property portfolio that in the worst case scenario will just stagnate. It's not parasitic, it's just good investment that deals with demand. They cannot throw up Halls of residence fast enough, office buildings are being turned into Student accomodation in Coventry.... and they charge, for a shoebox, 150 pounds a week. In Coventry. The standard terraced housing is a goldmine. I wouldn't look at Landlords as the issue, the issue is the market, Student rental prices are pushing up the private rental market. In an environment where it's more compelling to go short term why go for the residential market?
  14. So, to allow for people to afford things, we must do the bankers work for them? Adopt a 'scorched earth' policy if you will? And not that many repossessions happened, just a massive reduction in disposable income.
  15. Very much so, the financial plans of millions of hard working families turned into tatters as their houses all of a sudden shed thousands overnight.
  16. It was no masterplan, as an 'idealist' he will not care. He will be overwhelmed, it will be carnage..... but as a politician who believes in something he is a rare breed, he may, just may be able to inspire or reignite an idea. Those are trickier to get rid of, even if the core idea is crap.
  17. I have a theory. http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/34232177/jeremy-corbyn-young-people-have-to-be-heard I do not believe that Corbyn is expecting to win the next election. I think he is playing a longer game, planting a seed that may grow. He is looking to empower those that he can, reach out to those he has always sought to help and establish a young empowered and active socialist base to continue his ideology and drive Labour in the future. He will not compromise his principles to do something as vulgar as win popular favour, indeed, he is no idiot and will be aware that in the current political climate he couldn't possibly win an election, He will however have belief that a longer term revolution, beginning now can spring from his leadership. It plays to his strengths as an idealist, as a lifelong martyr to his own principles. It also explains why he is so willing to go against political convention with the media and things such as PMQ's. He doesn't care for the frills, his endgame vision is that of a socialist Britain, embraced by the young all buying into his ideals who make it happen later.
  18. An away point. Ok.
  19. Cedric injured?
  20. Something that had everything to do with sexism rather then political leaning. Irrelevant
  21. Even if it turns out to be a case of cutting off your noses to spite your face? All well and nice having principles but if you cannot appeal to the middle ground then surely it's just doing more harm then good?
  22. Someone in MLS is 'doing a Levy?'
  23. What a beautiful moment. Conservatives and Labour supporters alike united in joy.
  24. Quite astonishing. Hope he is a better orator then his deputy.
  25. BBC sources. Corbyn secured the 50% of the vote in the first round. He is the new leader of the opposition. Hillarious.
