There were a couple of signings from Premier League sides when we were outside of the top flight. Ricardo Fuller, Bradley Wright-Phillips, Viafara, Jason Euell,... But yes, we have never in recent times poached a first team player from a premier league rival. It's tended to be the other way around. Hopefully Ron Vlaar could be the first to buck that trend, it would show a very significant statement of our placing in the perceived pecking order if we could start to do that.

On the flip side, I felt the kit last year was utterly dull, the monotone badge looked very cheap and was completely unrepresentative of our club's identity. Delighted to see the back of it and pleased to see us back in the colours which preceeded even the club's badge as our very identity. No denying that there will be people who liked the change. In every poll ever done on the subject it has been a minority view though, not wishing to denigrate your opinion but the figures do not lie.

Do like the shirt, quite comfortable but yes, echoing the previous comments about the fit, I've gone a size up to XL to let it fit properly. It is loose at the shoulders but tight around the waist, regardless of how well proportioned you may be.

After seeing what Palace achieved last year of course they are confident. Outside of the top ten there is a lot of dross in the Premier League, we are more then likely going to be pulled back into that pack if we strengthen no further and that leaves us vulnerable to the likes of Burnley if they echo Palace's achievement last year.
