  1. Time for another haiku. Portsmouth's time is near An apocalypse is rising The scummers laugh aloud
  2. It's strange how players get written off at such a young age now. The dominating Liverpool teams in the 70's and 80's would routinely give debuts to players from the lower leagues in their early 20's having given them a chance to grow and teach them how to be a part of their team first. Ben Reeves needs to be given time and further chances on loan to play first team football before we can really judge his true potential. He may not be fully grown physically yet, his body may still be adjusting and 'mapping' itself to perform. Peter Crouch needed time before he developed to his potential in his late twenties, he only started to show his true worth at the age of 23 with us. I'm willing to reserve judgement on the lad, I think you are being a bit harsh. But of course, we would both love him to succeed in Saints colours.
  3. I'm sure I don't need to say the name of our key player that puts the whole logic of your statement into question..... I'm sure at the very least Reeves will be able to carve out a decent league career for himself.
  4. No, it's a legitimate question asking what was it about Sturrock that allowed the players to have the honeymoon period when experienced clubman Steve Wigley and Harry 'motivated by spite at the time' Redknapp utterly failed to do so. I am not disputing that Sturrock's face obviously didn't fit but he achieved more then those two men could with essentially the same squad. As I personally have already stated, I firmly believe we would have put up a far better fight that season had he remained then had he been sacked.
  5. Then why could they do it for him but not Wigley or Redknapp?
  6. But not for the prior ten games. There were issues before he arrived. Why could Wigley and Redknapp not achieve the same effect?
  7. Taking cues from the Trust, clever boys.
  8. Yet his results record was perfectly acceptable. It's curious. There are clubs where players back their manager to the hilt and have terrible form to show for it. (Wigley being a pertinent example.)
  9. And when is the deadline for their league membership getting revoked? That's cutting it mighty fine!
  10. There once was a chap with a bell Who had a tale to tell Of the club that once burned More money then ever earned And now bound for footballing hell.
  11. What's this poets friggin corner? The discussion's the skates being out of order For after four and a half years ...and wayyy too many beers! Their club is a lamb to the slaughter...
  12. The trust said "all will be right. We're going to put up a fight." When the kitties shown to be bare Then continues their 'mare Proving the scummers were right!
  13. Glad to see him getting just deserts for the work he's had to do at Southend. Fingers crossed for them in the final.
  14. Well, he was there on loan....

    Forgive ??

Forgive him for being part of the Everton team that beat us in an FA Cup semi final? Sure. Wouldn't wish being rushed to intensive care on anyone! Hope he pulls through.
  16. An intelligent Skate came to ask If the trust will meet it's task? The hate sent his way Became more every day "Stop it, or be in a cask!"
  17. I getcha! They are a bit special up there to be fair.
  18. I would suspect they want him, but don't want to pay any more then they have to.
  19. Yep. Nothing exceptional here. Nigel will still be getting paid in the mean time, will be sure to be paid off handsomely (albeit not to the full amount of the remainder of his contract) when terms need to be agreed so that he can talk to another club. If Leeds really want him then they will have to talk to both parties. Maybe the issue here is that they cannot afford to pay any kind of compensation to Saints for a man who is essentially still under contract.
  20. I wouldn't be taking that one personally, I would suggest it was more about protecting the site from any potential legal repercussions then doubt in what you were relaying.
  21. If the £33k included missed rent payments (£6k a month) then I could probably understand, but that for Garden maintenance, pool cleaning, window cleaning and a new cooker? Really? Just confirming what many have suspected, the entire squable is utterly daft.
  22. The subject matter has slightly preempted my next blog. Nice sentiment in there.
  23. So terribly small minded and paranoid. Wonderfully amusing! The cornered animal will naturally make a lot of noise.... but is ultimately doomed.
  24. Not wrong! Hang on, that last one..... Ok, own up...
  25. Sadly yes. I actually don't find this funny now. It's contemptible.
