Just heard this on Talksport. Was meant to be on the Sunday of the easter weekend, now put back a day to the Saturday, conventional 3pm kick off in order to accomodate the Chelsea v Man Utd cup replay that's been scheduled on the Easter Monday. Excellent.

Completely. Although I really hope Adkins gets compensated justly and fairly. This isn't some random failed employee, he was successful beyond all wildest expectation. I also echo pingwing's sentiments. Would hate for him to go to Reading.

It is sad, one of the things I hated about relegation to the championship 7 years ago was how flat the stadium felt when it wasn't full. I would hate to have that same kind of feel in the top flight.

One thing we have over that lot, at least our Stadium proposals can feature a full sized pitch! (And not resemble a sh*t hole, although based on their love for Fratton Park, give the public what they want!)

There is a valuable lesson here though, if the Council get too involved in the football club, things can get nasty.

You are kidding! That's bizarre. Nigel Adkins would be a great fit for them, but I believe this will just ensure their relegation.

If we can players from their prime who happened to turn out for us after passing their peak, then Dan Petrescu and Graeme Le Saux would have a case for inclusion too.

I could cope with that. Niemi first choice though.

On current form I may argue for the inclusion of Boruc over Jones... or make it three keepers and include them both. Matt Oakley as a central midfield option would be a must, also we seem to be missing Ronnie Ekelund.

Some people are only entertained if we win, then the end justifies the means. We've been spoilt over the last three years. Personally I do enjoy watching us, it can be frustrating watching the team pass the ball to an easy option rather then try something more dynamic but I would prefer that any day over a long ball 'playing the percentages' type approach. When it works though, like against Man City, with Schneiderlin and Cork providing the emphasis, the 'bite' in midfield and raising the crowd it is simply sublime.

He isn't a winger, but is a very capable forward. He is good with the ball at his feet, can run at people and his work off the ball is excellent. He is effectively an on form Lallana right now, sadly, both are incapable of finishing at the moment.... but Jay brings more endeavour currently.

We made Norwich look very poor, had to rely on some last ditch action from Yoshida and Jos to ensure we didn't pay dearly for profligate finishing. Boruc the hero at the end, justly saving an undesevered Norwich Penalty. A very good point to get, but it could have been so much better, and that is the key point of contention. Our play today was good but we couldn't have scored in a pre-paid brothel.
