  1. You don't own them, they own you.
  2. Can't believe no-one hasn't mentioned a Swiss Army Knife/Multi-tool yet!
  3. Based on those pictures, I'ld rather go route one and insert something else to be fair!
  4. I agree, if a parent resorts to hitting a child it's because they themselves have lost self control, not an arguement. They have lost all moral high ground but they are still the figure of authority.
  5. That's not a debate, it's an explaination. Exactly the right thing to do.
  6. Which is why it's important that they (the corrupt sections of society) are punished, made an example of and shown to not prosper/benefit from their actions. Then any sense of 'tarring,' is minimised and where possible, entirely removed.
  7. That elderly person shouldn't be respected. But a minority of behaviour should not be used as jusitification for undermining the whole ideal, otherwise everyone is brought down to the lowest common denominator. You get ars*holes in all walks of life, don't let them drag you down.
  8. I like to call that the 'pass back to Kelvin Davis' reaction.
  9. Oh f**k. League 2 for us next season.
  10. That, right there, is the true definition of cool.
  11. Frankly, the role of any kind of authority figure (teacher, police office etc) has now been undermined by emphasis on rights rather then responsibility and a growing culture of parents seeking to 'look after their own' against anyone who would dare criticise a family member rather then try to instill good behaviour and a sense of right and wrong. I'm sure we've seen the reaction of some parents to an acusation against a naughty child: "I'm sorry to bother you, but your child just threw a stone through my window!" "You WHAT!? How dare you suggest that!? What are you trying to say about my family!? You saying i'm an unfit mother....." Focusing on the deterent for a crime cannot be the be all and end all here, the lack of fundamental respect for rules and guidelines in behaviour in the first place is the key issue. There needs to be a more cohesive front from parents and all other forms of authority towards children so that the boundaries of right/wrong cannot be blurred in the youngster as it grows up.... if a child does wrong it should know that there will be a punishment.
  12. Hooiveld. No way he would bottle it.
  13. The MD at my company has the Jaguar XF Diesel. Loves how it drives but it suffered from severe fuel starvation issues after he received it. The customer service to correct it was quite poor (promising to pick up car for repair and not following through for example) and ruined the experience for him. So be wary.
  14. Of course, I believe you. (Thousands wouldn't. )
  15. Along the same lines as the Maglite, a Cricket Bat, stored under the bed in case of intruder.
  16. Not a means to 'win' as such, but I do find that taking a Shotgun into HSBC can result in a windfall.
  17. I do like a good drill. Have been coveting a 110V, 670W Bosch number for a while. Something capable of taking it to any material requirement. http://www.toolbox.co.uk/bosch-gbm2321-1150w-two-16136-102756?utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_medium=GB&utm_campaign=GoogleBase I also nearly cried when I lost my 5mm rachet shocket feel into my friend's car door. Sourcing a replacement wasn't an issue, but that horror of not being able to complete the job until another could be obtained.
  18. The goals didn't really credit Blackpool's attacking play. Quick passing to the wings where they carried the ball forward. If the pitch was that bad it would have worked against them.
  19. Considering that Blackpool won the game thanks to consistently quick counter attacks and quick ball movement I think the condition of the pitch is an excuse. We didn't turn up, plain and simple. Also it's easy to forget that Blackpool nearly beat us at St Mary's in December, they are a genuinely good team who have managed to get their tactics right against us. As for cheating, we did exactly the same against Man Utd at St Mary's in 2003, it worked a treat that day.
  20. I thought the home fans wern't too bad up there. Certainly better then some away games i've been to. But yes, i was utterly hoarse this morning after the second half singing. It must have been at least 15 minutes non-stop of 'oh when the Saints,' and the 'Top of the League, we're having a laugh' in response to the home end attempting to taunt us with the same chant was perversly satisfying! All credit to everyone else who went, absolutely brilliant for a televised game such a long way away. Hope the trip back to the south coast was smooth for everyone.
  21. Just back from Blackpool. stunning support, such a shame that Guly spurned his chip over the keeper and Sharp missed the penalty, was all downhill from there. Draw a line under it and move on!
  22. Lowe, Good Businessman, bad football man.
  23. 3rd place. Still a stunning achievement but something of an anticlimax. I want to be wrong.
  24. No. It's disrespectful to our opponents.
